New Grower Nirvana's Auto Blue Mystic ...

I'm in NYS for my semi-annual visit / seed starting event ... This little darlin' broke ground 10/2 ... I'm here for about 4 weeks w/ my goal being to leave behind a little bush for my buddy to tend and harvest ... he and his smoking friends prefer Blue Mystic so Blue Mystic it is ... I'll aim for a weekly photo assuming there's growth and more often if there is anything to see ... soil is my own mix of Lamberts Organic potting soil (Home Depot) , Coast of Maine 'Quoddy' (Lobster Compost) and plenty of perlite ... I added bone meal at a rate of 1 cup for 12 gal of soil and let the soil sit for a month ... the other soil in the mix is used soil from my last couple grows ... Using a Blackstar 180HO Veg/Clone about 16" high running 24/7 ... pot is sitting on a heating pad set on low running 24/7 ... I'll be adding 1/2 a Soil Tab in about 10 days if all goes well ...

Lambert's Pro Mix is good. If you can find it, try Isabelle Organic Potting soil, its even better!

Got a sort of unrelated question for you guys: Since I have the bag of OF and a bag of Compost, and I've been told the OF can run hot, especially on the East coast, what else should I be thinking about adding to the mix?? I was thinking maybe some other amendments might be necessary.. I also have a bag of GH Ancient Forest that I use for my Heisenberg tea.. Should I be thinking about running some water through the mix and checking the pH to see if I have pH issues? I was hoping to transfer this WW#2 into soil soon, as the roots are starting to form under the brick.. Also, I think I may see about picking up some Nirvana tabs, as I'm not sure how the liquid GH hydro nutes would work in soil..

The guy to ask that question is Eyes In Fire, he, IMO, is THE man here when it comes to organic soils. From what I've read about OF lately, I'd sure check ph. I planted a Cheese pl;ant ( see my grows ) in the cheapest ( $.99 a bag ) soil I could find. It was real crap...lol! Fed it cast off res water. Grew better than most of my other soil grows! Although to be fair, I now think its been a water problem. So yea, if your not concerned about doing it organic, GH nutes can and will work well!

I've seen those tabs on the Nirvana site, never read of anyone using them.

G ... isn't your plant close to 2 weeks old now ? I'd mix a little perlite in (33%) and some of your compost and and plant that sucker. You should have plenty of roots, right ... if you have any Myco... now would be a great time to use it ... I would be very gentle and plant it then water it real well and then leave it alone for about a week ... it will either sink or swim but if you're gentle the odds are in your favor ... there may be a thread in the hydro forum about moving a plant from hydro to soil ... I do indeed have some Mycos in the form of both Botanicare Aquashield/Hydroguard and I also have a bottle of Great White.. Probably throw them both in for good measure!!

A set of tabs (10 soil+ 10 Flower tabs) costs about $45 delivered ... enough to grow and flower 10 plants or more, especially w/ minor supplements such as CalMag ... So far Baylee420, Feenix, and myself have used them on here w/ excellent results ... a soil tab delays flowering by about a week but it's a week of growth ... my best 4-5 plants were grown on Tabs ... I'll bet they are available for cheap here in the US if a person only knew what's in them ...

Are the flowering tabs "Biotabs" the ones for organic growing with autopots?

I've been staying w/ my friend here in NY twice a year, for a month each time, since about 2005 ... and he's a great cook ... My elderly mom is in a senior home nearby ... I try to do as much as I can to be a welcome houseguest ... even cut the grass, weather permitting. He's not quite as serious about growing as we all are so I try to leave him w/a plant each time that is pretty much self sufficient except for a little water and BioBizz ... Gives me a lot of 'Fast Start' practice ... I expect to leave on the 27th and generally I leave him w/ a nice little bush just starting to flower ... Thanks for the input y'all ...
