I've often thought I'd like to visit all my smoking friends across the country and set them up w/ a quality UFO and a plant (on a turntable) so they can learn how great it can be to grow their own ...

Week 1 is done ... Waiting for this thing to grow is driving me nuts But it appears to have grown a little ... I was going to wait to give it a Soil Tab until it was 10 days old, I got antsy and stuck the Tab in at 3 days ... didn't hurt it any ... based on photos of my last grows it looks to be right on time. Light is on 24/7 as well as a heating pad set on low under the pot ... grow space temps are 78-80*, which is pretty good considering the indoors temps here ...

Now when you apply the soil tabs, do you literally just stab it into the soil and leave it??

Hey G ... I want this plant to stay under 2 feet tall so I'm only using 1/2 a tab. I broke the 1/2 tab into 2 pieces and pressed them 2-3 inches deep ...regardless of the amount of tab, in the future, I think I'll be pressing them into the soil after the plant has sprouted rather than placing under the seed when preparing the pot. I think having a dissolving tab under the seed creates a zone that is a little too fertile for roots to thrive there, once the roots have started to spread out if they get nutes from 2-3 spots in the pot that are off to the side of the tap root I think it will allow the plant to grow faster ... 3 days was too early to apply the tab. I think 7 to 10 would have made more sense but acting smart is not my strength ... another reason for 1/2 tab is my friend that I'll be leaving this plant with will be anxious to start feeding it w/ BioBizz so there is no need for the tab to still be dissolving after about 3 more weeks ...

Aaaah, I gotcha!! I had read in a couple threads that folks just put them under their seed/rapid rooter/rockwool and let the roots soak in the stuff as they penetrate the medium, but what you say makes much more sense!! How many grows do you have under your belt with the tabs??

I've grown about 6 plants w/ soil tabs and another 8 w/ Flower Tabs and Soil tabs ... they make a great base fertilizer and I've yet to see any damage or stunting done by a tab. I have seen great results w/ both especially when using supplements like Cal/Mag and ... Bloom nutes ... wish I could find a source here in the USA cause I know they could be gotten a lot cheaper 'locally' ...

Day 11 ...

Pony tailed her today for the first time ... she's good and healthy and right on pace to be a bush in 2 weeks ... I'll let the leaves stay gathered/ lifted for about six hours today and each day for most of the next two weeks ... She's shown a lot of growth in the past 4 days. The heating pad set on low is keeping the soil a nice comfortable 75* and I surrounded her w/ mylar this morning ... at home, w/ my own equipment, I would have had the mylar in place from day one. Running the lights 24/0 for warmth since the room the grow is in is about 62*F ... very happy w/ the soil, it's the same stuff I'll be using on my next grow starting in November ...

Day 14 ...

She's a couple days behind ... I generally have the leaves reach both sides of the pot at the end of 2 weeks ... I suspect this light is less effective than my light at home ... Ten days til I head back home ...
