New Grower New to forum, first grow journal of first ever grow!

okay so ive officially hit a little issue, past week or so ive noticed some fading of my leaves and yellowing. ive attached a pic of a fan leaf i pulled thats showing this. i tried matching it up to a leaf sympton chart but so many of them look so similiar, can anyone tell me what the problem is, im thinking eith a nitrigen problem (turns out i had only been running quarter strength nutes most this time, increased to half strength last watering the other day), or is that some magnesium defiency (not exactly sure what that is or how to help it). if its lack of nitrogen will my increase to half strength nutes help fix this? and if its a magnesium issue how do i help it? its happened very suddenly only within roughly the past 4 days or so and it seems to be getting worse faster. though i did just only water with half strength nutes yesterday morning. at first i thought maybe it was just an aging leaf thing. but ive also started to notice it on some newer leaves. i did just defol some of the more yellowing looking older leaves, plucked about 4 or 5 fan leafs from plant. id idnt really think much of it at first becasue i thought it was light spectrums reflecting on leaves, but new pics taken using the camera flash kind of make it show up better.

You could be right about magnesium deficiency. I would probably just feed some calmag if you have some. It's got magnesium so you cover that base and it usually has nitrogen so you cover that base and you need more Cal Mag in flower anyway, so. Why not.

uuuuummmmmmm.....i dont have any of this so called cal mag, is this something that can be purchased easily at regular joe type places like walmart or such places? or is there something else that could be used?
and if i can find this cal mag, will my plant be okay another day? i wont be able to try and purchase anything until tomorrow morning..
also i just watered my plant yesterday morning, if i can get this cal mag, do i wait until next watering again in 2 or 3 days, or do i need to water completly again and risk overwatering? would mixing up a liter of full bore strength seni grow ab and watering today with that help? i know it does have calcium and magnesium i believe

You can get Epsom salt for mag. Listen man I noticed some tip burn and leaf curl down, yet you said you were giving 1/4 nutrients this worries me that you may have a lockout. are you watering with runoff( 15-20 percent? and what growing medium are you using?

hey there, and yes i believe i am roughly in that runoff range i would think. i honestly havent measured my runoff, my pot is a 3 gallon fabric pot that wasnt filled completly up there was about 2 inches or so of room left from top of pot after soil settled. i water every watering with 4 litres of water and my tray under does definitly coillect runoff water from bottom of pot. it might not however be an exact 15 percent.. would you suggest i perhaps give it another 4 litres of plain phd water today to maybe flush the soil a bit? oh also my soil was just a neutral potting mix i picked up at big box store. believe it was premier potting mix that i addd roughly 35 percent perlite to
all of this only seems to have happened slowly over the past week or so

well just to be safe i gave plant flush with 3 gallons of ph water, ill put it back into tent and wait things out until next watering time. ugh im starting to wonder if maybe i should just start over with higher end soil from greenhouse, even more perlite and new seed. but ill leave this one for a bit and see if it maybe starts looking better, im asuming 3 gallons would be adiquit for a flush i would hope. perhaps maybe in future ill only give nutes every other watering instead of every watering

Molasses has calcium and magnesium in equal parts you could try a tablespoon of that per gallon in with your next watering when you feed that is and see how it does. It has the benefit of feeding any beneficials you have in your soil. You could do a quarter teaspoon of magnesium sulfate the non perfumed variety, in a liter of water with a drop of very mild soap if you have some. The soap is a surfactant to help it distribute more evenly over the plant. Oh I guess I failed to tell you I mean do a foliar feed spray it on in a spray bottle under the leaves for sure and on top.

okay so yesterday morning i flushed my plant will around 3 gallons of phd water since i had been told that i could possibly have a nutrient lockout. but i totally forgot to test the ph of the runoff during the flush. so just now i gave my plant another couple litres of water to get more runoff and tested it. now my fabric pot is sittin on a wire grate that rests in a rosting pan, this is my runoff pan but its gotten pretty rusty, lol. so just now when i tested my runoff it had picked up a little rust off the wire grate as it ran out bottom of pot. would this cause any bad readings on the ph test. my test was showing ph of 6-6.5 range. but not sure if the rust would give a lower ph reading or something. if not then i dont believe its a nutrient lockout im dealing with. so should i now mix up some more nute water and refeed my plant more nutes since i just flushed yesterday and a little more today? im guessing if its not a nute lockout then perhaps it just needs more then 1/4 strength nutrients?. so should i just make up some half strength again adn water it right now then wait a few days to see if any improvement, or should i just let the pot dry out and ten water and feed at half strength?

I don't think the rest would make a difference in your pH. I personally don't measure runoff pH. It's always a good idea to feed quarter or half strength after a flush. Since you've been doing quarter strength all along and you now had a couple flushes, I would go ahead and go have strength.

I can't remember what you're using for lights, but if they're LEDs you will want some cal-mag by the time you get late in flower. I usually just order off eBay.
