Plants can survive a long time without oxygen to their roots in deep water culture as long as your lights are off. You don't want to have your lights on and high temperatures and your air shut off. I've successfully gone 36 hours without lights or air to the roots in deep water culture and been fine.

@jingo You are right as usual, but I think every grow and grower are different. I lost years ago a whole Harvest ( Plants were photos in Rdwc DIY Current Culture) Of White Widow in 3 days with no power. Back to back snowstorms

Wow chef that sucks. Yea not sure why our power went out there where no storms lol. I’m glad I have you two here to give me tips. I’ve learned a lot from you both so far and reading a lot of grows on here. I am curious though how do you rank up and get badges on here? Just curious cause I would love to have a better title to maybe be a tester for a lot of the stuff I see people testing on here.

Ok day 27. Besides the curling leafs on the top cause my ppms where to high after rez change they seem to be lookomg fine. At least to me if anyone else sees anything I don’t let me know. Right now they are about as tall as a 2 gallon jug. Ppm’s haven’t dropped in the last 2 days but the water level is. In two days they have drank about a gallon of water each. My ph started at 6.4 has dropped some to about 5.8. Please any comments, advise, or requests are welcome

So when you have water level falling, parts per million staying static, and pH falling you have kind of an unusual situation. You need to change your Rez again and you either need to increase nutrients or decrease nutrients. Since you're already aware that you set your rez ppm too high in the first place, I would decrease nutrients by about 30%.

Regarding roots in dwc.. I read in multiple places how the plant dies when oxygen stops flowing. Once I saw balls on one plant in the tent I gave his air supply to a girl and left him there, wondering how long exactly it would take for him to start dying. He didn't wilt at all for days. As a matter of fact he had sprouted short stubby roots all around the base of the netpot. He was thriving. He'd gone Kratky spontaneously during flower. I ended up using his pollen to get a branch pregnant on my best girl of the run. Then chopped him, smoked a bit of him and caught a great buzz.

Was he special or just lucky? Or is everyone parroting incorrect info about plants dying without a pump. I don't know but I figured I'd grab a few seeds courtesy of him.

What I’ve read as long as all the root isn’t in the water and getting air it can keep growing. Just like jingo said earlier most can last a few days before any major damage happens. Cannabis is a weed so it wants to stay alive so it try’s what it can to do so. I’m no pro but as long as some roots get air and your plant doesn’t dry out I don’t think it would die very quickly. That’s just my educated guess
