New Grower New Grower (3rd cycle) - 4x DP Daiquiri Lime

ohh yes thats all in the first post..and silly me if ya top dressing ya have to water a bit to :paleo:
reading back a bit and skipping pages etc.pic from 30th was ok since then the 3L got darker and the biguns have lightened a bit,but yellowing from the bottom quicker.
from 1st on coincides with a hot spell, maybe they been an extra bit droopy from 1st.im not sure of the week/days but the plants are well into their stride = they can now take the maximum amount of water in one go without fear of overwatering.....that could only come if the frequency of watering is to much/often.(lift up pot?)
ive just got the kitchen scales dirty :smoker1:and come up with some figures.:dancer:
bear in mind my soil is biobizz lightmix 4 parts, perlight 2 parts, vermiculite 1 part.
6L airpot 300g a full 6L aipot of new from the bag dry medium 2100g soil =1800g
i water my plants from about week 4 ish onwards every single day.
500ml biobizz bottle = 600g
1000ml biobizz bottle =1100g im counting both bottles as 100g as i think water is 985g/L so lets call it 500 and 1000g
so at say week 5 i water a 6L pot 1500ml or i add 1.5kg of water/feed to a pot containing 1.8kg of soil.its more or less double the weight so easy (after i got the hang of it) to gauge if or not to water my plants.
or if a 6L pot can take 1.5L of feed in a relitively cool part of the world.how many L should a 8,12,15L pot be getting ?
i often forget a watering or two,and id have yellowing/turning brown/limp bottom leaves pretty soon.
if it only took half an hour to suck up the 6L maybe the could have taken more
i hate guessing or having a stab in the dark, but im thinking this could be slight underwatering.
good luck n keep er lit
:pighug:

We are in agreement. I gave them 10L of AACT 3 hours ago, all top watered. It looks like they drank it all up in 30 minutes. We'll see how they look but I think you are dead on. I over watered at the start, and that got me afraid of overwatering, now I am underwatering, misjudging pot weight because of plant mass. Going to step up the watering to daily or twice daily if needed. Well see how they look later tonight.

i think water is 985g/L

Sorry to sound like science nerd, but
water is exactly 1000g/L = 1kg/L.*
The very measurements are based on that.

And also 1g water = 1ml water.*
So 1kg water = 1L water.*

*At "Standard Temperature and Pressure"

Makes for easy calculations!

16hrs after they got 10L

I think them ladies are thirsty for sure. I would up it to twice a day for the bigger ones at least. The smaller ones seem to be doin great and lovin their moisture. The big ladies need a draaaank lol

i thought i was being extra nerdy by remembering my school days :paleo:
1L=1kg...1 is a volumne 1 is a weight, neither based on each other it just happens to be that way.temperature and altitude will alter the weight but not the volumne.1 applies a force to 3 sides, and gravity/weight only applies force in one direction (is that a pop group)
1L of water at 4c is 999g at 40c more like 985g.water will have salts and minerals, how much of each alters the density, add in some nutes and it could be 975g =1L.live half way up a mountain 930g.1L petrol 750g 1L oil 1250g.
its like a cup of flour.standard cup measurement is 250ml.but depending on lots of factors that 1 cup of flour can weigh lots of different grams.
well if i didnt learnt that in school,i must have dreamt it,and if i dreamt it its more than likely complete garbage.if thats the case im sorry and forget everything ive said
so for the sake of simple math i think we can call 1L of water 1kg :smoker1: or il be getting the kitchen scales dirty again measuring 1&3L pots and whatever amount of soil they can hold :coffee2: and taking a walk down to the river to double check at sea level.
misjudging pot weight because of plant mass ? try to pretend the plant is not there....compared to the pot/soil in pot/amount of water/feed in the soil...the plant itself weights next to nothing.only thing is when lifting up pot,a bigger plant higher centre of gravity/be like a top heavy effect.

Girls got 6L after lights on. Pots werent super dry despite how they look here, this was right at lights on, but they took the 6L easily. Moved the 3L pot to the center, may just leave her there and let her fight for her right to light, may move her out in a few days. @Benjidubwise yea, we'll see how it goes, enough lessons learned this grow to have me more excited for the next one than this one.

i was about to ask what strain bottom left was.but they all 4 are d,lime............theres something in the back of me head :paleo:that says these tend to be a lighter shade of green.or is that just the name ? is there a bit of purpleyness to the buds of Flo ? if so its a colourfull strain (or pheno) of the few colourfull strains ive grown they can be tricky feeders, and with them being colourfull can make reading them that lil bit harder.
and now you gonna tell me the 3L girl is the same strain :crying:
so uptill now my thinking on whats a good beginer strain to grow was....grow anything apart from northern lights (ive seen some of them go 120 days) and that would put anyone off growing autos.
but now ive changed my mind to avoid anything with a colour in the name, and any strain that might pink, red or purple up.
if what im seeing today from the above pic is right  looks like they dried out a bit and bottom right Francine got the worst of it.once them 6-8 manky leaves fall off she wont be half as bad looking  yeah granted still overall 2 clicks lighter a green than ideal, but taking into account early issues 7/10 this grow is far from a fail :smokeit:
what is the non canna stuff ya got in the corners ?
good luck n keep er lit

3L pot is a different strain. 12L pots are all the same, 3 of the 4 are even the same bag, all were selected for size and appearance.

Ive grown this strain once outdoors before, and once indoors before and now that you mention it I do think it has typically been a little light. They are getting plenty of N the past couple days in the form of fish (3-1-0) and calmag (2-0-0), and just hit them today with some fish crab shrimp biochar (2-2-0). It also makes sense that FRancine would dry out, due to her position relative to my vent. No color on any of these girls other than the stems of the leaves being maroon. Plants around are giant yellow marigold, microbel tomato, lemongrass, lemon balm, profumo basil, some lavender... A few things, just threw them in there because I had the tray space, figured Id add some diversity and maximize my return on investment for light.
