Outdoor New Alaskan Autos Mk.II

I'm used to it. It's incredibly satisfying to shake out that vermiculite, and watch the tiny, angry, red monsters scour the soil and plant in hunt of their webslinging prey.
I agree.... The wife and I use our fingers and paper towels also when we have gotten them before... Ive found it can take multiple angles of attack to get some strains of those little buggers...

Day something or other. Sunbeams are hitting the Blackstone oddly through the rafters giving it an odd appearance. It is green and healthy.

Unfortunately the spidermites have made another appearance in the veg room. Predatory mites are in bound. Going to pick up some nematodes when I go to town next, as well, as a precautionary measure. I often use a magnifying glass to make observations of my specimen so I'm catching them early again. They usually show up in spring/summer, by late fall I'll have them eradicated again. The greenhouse appears to be pest free still, thankfully.

Another observation: The specimen in the greenhouse relax their leaves at night, folding up almost like a sensitive plant or a starfruit tree will. I was worried it was a wilt at first but over the last couple weeks they've consistently tucked in at night and perked right back up in the morning. I've never seen a photo do this before. Thought I'd share.

pop22 vanquished spider mites with diatomaceous earth, in thread about trying for a lb with and au. I've notice nighttime tuck up, i think when plants are borderline over watered, nothing of concern, my take

They've gotten a cup of water(literally) every other day for the past week or so. Before that it was about once a week. If I water any less I risk a dry wilt. These things are downright strange. They're drinking now, which is good. I'm starting to think it was unnecessary to add vermiculite to my soil mix in the first place.

Thanks for the input. :) I've released the predatory mites. I have a big tub of DE and the little puffer gun but I only use it as a last ditch effort. I had considered watering a little less, but it's been pretty hot in there lately so I was afraid of a dryout.

Stardust 1,2, & 4 are just beginning to show little white hairs!
:vibe:
I can see what may very well be a ball on Stardust 3. Jock Horror Auto & Blackstone are not showing yet. I'll take some pics when they develop a little more.

Autoflower Portal Blackstone Feminized: Female

Unstaked Stardust 3, pruned Stardust 2, approximately one week ago. Soil medium required one liter of water per specimen today. Leafminers have done a small amount of damage to Stardust 2 and Jock Horror Auto, however the wood spiders seem to be winning out. No LST necessary for Blackstone, she began branching when she was still small. Stardusts & Jock Horror Auto are all approximately 24" tall. Blackstone is approximately 15" tall.

looking nice in there Enki. You remember we were talking about that partial nighttime tuck up? Well, saw it on 2 plants a couple of nights ago, after a blistering hot day, fine in the morning, heat stress that time
