Outdoor New Alaskan Autos Mk.II

Houston, we have a problem:
IMAG0647.jpg

Moonstone 3 showed nothing but deveping boy parts for days.

IMAG0648.jpg

Moonstone 3 is now developing hairs and calyxes on its top.

Anybody got some auto pollen they could lend a poor farmer? :( It may be too late to start again. I may just chop this herm down and do that, though.

edit/ Time to slash'n'burn and work some Druidic magic. :greenthumb:
The prevalence of outside predatory species of insect and arthropod versus pest species is considerably higher than that of my photo veg room. Time to shut off the lights, expel the misfortunates, and germinate a few Moonstone Amnesias.

What if I cut off the girl parts? How frequent do you suppose the monoecious or "functional hermaphrodite" alleles will be amongst the sex chromosomes of the offspring? Is it worth the risk? There are three Moonstone Amnesia regular beans in a canister on my router at the moment. Just trying to mitigate my losses here. I know damn well I can't let it knock itself up. However, do you suppose it would it be worth it to experiment with the male pollen from the lower regions? I've seen this form of monoecious reproduction in two different strains of photoperiod, both were crosses with autos. One was known only as "CJ", that was in 1999. The other was a bagseed I got a few years back that I dubbed "Shrubby." CJ tasted of cinnamon and light citrus. Shrubby tasted like ginger snaps. Somebody chime in, please. :frowny:

don't know, would be a bummer if the pollen produced herms. I got 2 strapping afghani mag boys exiled from the greenhouse, just about ready to start dumping. With my funky intermittent PO, don't know if I can get pollen to you in time. What is the latest you could use?

I theorize the last week of July would be the latest. 4-6 weeks is how long it takes to make turtles for photos, autos seem to be faster in all respects so 3-5 weeks could be a more realistic time frame. If I applied July 30th I could see beans by August 27th through September 10th. I don't anticipate seeing frosts until around September 24th to as late as October 1st.

man, they still aren't unloading yet, doesn't seem like timing is good. Put a pic up of the boys on the greenhouse thread

Stardust 1: doesn't like the heat but is progressing.

IMAG0654.jpg

Stardust 2: doesn't mind the heat but seems to be trapped in a state of preflower.

IMAG0655.jpg

Stardust 3: a gorgeous specimen which now stinks of lemons. Seems to be halted in a state of preflower. Doesn't mind the heat one bit.

IMAG0656.jpg

Stardust 4 : autoflowering, albeit slowly, reaks of citrus, loves the heat.

IMAG0657.jpg

Jock Horror Auto: loves the heat, is commencing with the frosty nug making.

IMAG0658.jpg

Blackstone: stinky little girl. Making great nugs already. Impressed considering her age.

Observations: Unfortunately 2/4 Stardust are autos. The other two might get thrown under a grow light. The rumors about Flash may not be rumors.

Day 86:

IMAG0670.jpg

IMAG0675.jpg

Stardust 4: Slowly creating buds. Might make some decent joint material by the end of summer.

IMAG0671.jpg

IMAG0674.jpg

Stardust 1: On the same timeline as her sister.

IMAG0672.jpg

IMAG0676.jpg

Jock Horror Auto: Making some gnarly stinky nuggets. Going to produce the lions share of the shack.

Day 78:

IMAG0669.jpg

IMAG0673.jpg

Blackstone in all her glory.

Terminated the other two Stardusts. They refused to auto and even their preflower calyxes refused to take Moonstone Amnesia pollen. All four remaining specimen have one branch that I have pollinated. The hairs have receded and the calyxes are swollen. Running out of summer up here in the North lands but I will get some smoke and beans out of the ordeal. It has been a learning curve to say the least. Specimen have received one additional dose of diluted organic unsulphured blackstrap mollasses since the last update. Soil mix seems to have been pretty good. Can't wait for September. Then it's chop chop time. Temps have been cool, 62f daytime, & 49f nighttime in the shack. It's been raining cats and dogs for days, had to increase the time that the fans were on to dissipate some of the humidity, no signs of bud rot yet. Steady as she goes.

Hey enki, couple tricks I learned here...I had a great white shark that wouldn't flower, she was an auto and became so massive I had to crop her twice otherwise she would of hit 6 feet. Waira made the point of shocking her with a big dose of phosphorus to initiate a response. It took several to get her going. Also next hermie plant you get, keep her and leave her to pollinate some females and the seeds you create should be feminized ( member named pop here). Nothing ever goes to waste... happy growing
