Mephisto Genetics Nebula Grow Journal - an 8x4 full of Mephistos

Ordered those cobs yet mate? :pass:

Tomorrow is the day :headbang::vibe::woohoo:

Finally got the $ together today. Taking the plunge! Going to put in an order with bigsm0 for 4 auto cobs. I like the flexibility of going at different heights and the ease of use. Move em around individually where you need light most. Hang it up, plug it in. Also considering using one or two in the 3x3 closet I am turning into a grow space.

After this set I am gonna buy a larger amount of cobs and a meanwell or two. Wire up ten or twelve cobs to start and build a framework for them all in the 8x4. Make it brighter than the sun LOL I have some ideas going around in my head. I think it is growmau5 video he has framework with the ability to angle lights. Would be cool to do that, and have a few cobs on some type of pulley system for different spectrums at different heights. Really nice all of the options out there already for cob lighting and it's only going to get better and more accessible (less expensive) over time.

Hope to get them by 4/20. Would make for an even better holiday! :pass:

late to subb'd up! but will say, this is great so far! Can't wait to see how them girls grow up! :smoking::smoking::cheers:

Thanks for the kind words! I have all kinds of plans in the works, stick around! It should be good fun.
I like to tinker around a bit and try things out for myself. Mistakes will be made and there will be a thing or two to be learned. I'm an ass when it comes to taking advice. I like to mess up first, ask questions later LOL

Order is on the way for four autocobs. Setting up a second space for some more autos, have some photos sprouting as well. Two more sprouts came up yesterday, a 3BOG and Sour Stomper. I plan on filling my space with plants and add as much light as I can for this round. A 315w cmh, 600w hps and now 200 watts of cob should make for some interesting results. Will def be buying more lights for the tent and second grow space.

I will say it has been fun and a great challenge so far, being my first real indoor grow attempt. :headbang:

Hell yeah! i get that let me do it and learn please and thanks. So my intelligent questions can be asked later with some proper back ground. Sounds like some sweet light setup you got coming in! The ladies will flourish under all that, looking forward to watching it all unfold. Yup same I got into my frist auto and back into the grow as well. Been fun and lots to learn with them autos and their lives timeline compared to the old photo genetics.

I really do need to do some research into autos and how they differ from photos. I have noticed they are smaller than photos at sprout and seem slower to take off. Could be my soil mix or some other factor but I sprouted a couple photos and a couple autos this week, and the photos are much larger and taller already as seedlings. I thought I was doing something wrong because the autos all seem so small. I very well could be doing something wrong but the same methods were used for all the seeds, same soil, same T5 lighting, etc.

I will post some pics here in a bit. The photo Blue Dream is about the same height as a skylar white that came up 2 weeks ago. I even moved the blue dream directly underneath the cmh bulb at 18" and it is loving it. The auto seedlings needed the light at least 24" away upon sprouting. It seems Autos and photos definitely have different needs and grow differently.

Yeah I hear that. They are totally different in their growth patterns. It is neat to see them side by side. Yeah I left my SH under the t5nano too long and she ended up being a bit on the small side. Compared to my SBCush got way less time under the t5 and right to the MH and she's going good now, also its nice to see a topped vs non-topped. Get an idea of whats possible. I have been told there are some runts in the auto seed, my assumption is that they are the rudi dom seed and just grow squat. I do want to get a COB at some point to see the real difference the COB fullspectrum does vs a MH/HPS swap.

sweet look forward to the pics :toke:

I think that's the best way to do things brother. Try it for yourself and see what happens, good or bad. It's the only way really as there are so many conflicting opinions and different advice around.

In the words of the great Clinton Fearon...... "Experience is the greatest teacher of all".

About autos starting off slowly, I think they are forming their root mass early on, in preparation for their accelerated life cycle/maturation. It all starts off underground with autos, and I think the tap root hitting the bottom of the pot is a big trigger for them to get moving. Smaller pots often mean quicker autos I believe, and quicker to show sex. I think thats why some people start them off in a small pot and transplant.

That's exactly what I have been thinking about. Smaller pots. Mine are all pretty large. :toke:

I just bought a shallower tub/pot, about 5 gal and square. Planted two seeds in it. I think it is large enough to grow out two plants but not deep. I may cut out the bottom of the tub and place it in another 5 gal tub. What happens when a plants roots hit bottom, it triggers into flower and then is given another 8 inches of soil depth? I kind of want to see what happens. Maybe do my own version of a subcool recipe  start in one pot, veg a few weeks, cut out bottom and flower in two tubs with extra soil depth for flowering. Maybe?

Yeah sounds good mate, give it a go and see what happens

All sounds logical. That's how I evaluate most things because I am half Vulcan. I struggle to do anything not based on my own personal logic :crying:

Sometimes that leads to the mother of all f*ck ups but so be it, I won't do it again!
