Grow Mediums My First Hydro Grow

It looks like your rockwool is too wet, you should lower your water level in your rez to where the popping air bubbles wet the bottom of the rockwool. just below the netpot usually is the sweet spot until they get some roots then you wanna drop it to an inch below the netpot

I have it am inch below the net pot now because 2 have roots hanging. I just changed the res and modified it to put more air on it so now I have 70lpm to an 8.5 inch flat disc. I gave them their first dose of advanced ph perfect line I gave them half of the reccomend ed dose for the first feeding and I will raise as needed.

Those air disks bud ,if you read the label are rated at about 25-30 lpm putting MORE air into it could damage the pump. also make sure you take the label off them if its still on it.
That rockwool to me looks like full of algae research that then use some h2o2 to kill it before continuing as ive stated before i dont use rockwool but i do know algae when i see it.
Do you know the temps of your system just before lights out at all please so we can find the source of the algea blooms.
what water are you using also tap , RO or distilled. if using tap can you look up the town supply on the net for your area and give me the ppms of that please. cheers. ;)

Oh and one more small but very important detail.
on the town water website if that is indeed what you are using can you find out wether it has chlorine or chloramines please ;) thank you.

Changed the set up only pushing 40lpm to that disc now and 30lpm to 2 round stones. Label is off, my ppm is 262 temp is 68.9f I looked at the top of the rockwool cubes with 20x scope and now algae but I did make covers for the rockwool.

Thats much better as an option.

I'm using RO water @indicalVolz

Awesome because even de-clorinated tap water turns bad quicker than nice filtered cold RO

my ppm is 262
A little high depending on what its consisting of . but that could be ok to top off on if it wasn't for my next statement.

I looked at the top of the Rockwool cubes with 20x scope and now algae but I did make covers for the Rockwool.

The res /res's need emptying cleaning a disinfecting also the rockwool cube needs the algae killed off as its suffocating the root zone. and infecting the res's

temp is 68.9f

Getting close to your limit as long as it doesn't exceed 69.8 by lights out , or at anytime.

You'll be fine running higher to a degree but it will start to cause damage to the root zone weakening it ,also decreasing the dissolved oxygen in the solution allowing algae and then the pathogen Pythium to grab hold. 69.8 is your limit.

Overall my suggestion is to flush the Rockwool cubes with a h2o2 solution following the directions on the label ,don't pour directly onto the cubes. I researched this briefly and for this to be fine to do as i ,again ,have little to no experience with Rockwool because it was one grow over ten years ago. Research this thoroughly before continuing.

Another thing id like to mention is why i choose not to use Rockwool. And that's because dangerous to your health if inhaled and causes scaring of the lung tissues. therefore i personally see no use for it myself but that's my own opinion.many still do with great results.
i hope this info helps bro ;)

@indicalVolz there is NO algae I checked with 20x scope sorry about that I know I said now algae before but meant no algae. My res temp hasn't climbed above of 69f as far as I know. I do think my overall temp is a Lil low and may be stunting the growth. It's been at 64-70f with 40-45% humidity. I did clean the res I'm alternating two separate res between changes. I did only give half the reccomended dose of nutrients Advanced nutrients ph perfect line. I'm noticing root growth just not much foliage growth. They are 6 days old I will update with pics soon. Thank you all so much for the help.
