Hi guys,
Thanks to all of you and your posts I've made it to week 6 without killing the girls and figured it's about time to post a summary of events so far and log the remainder of my project. The wealth of information on this site is great and has really got me motivated.
Yet Another Berry Ryder Grow @ week 6.5 - Day 41 and counting!
About me: I'm a first time grower, long time toker. I'm a novice gardener but spent a good two months reading a lot of info on these boards. I've also been following Les's very similar grow thread over here. It's an interesting comparison and been very helpful for me along the way.
The Seeds:
Auto Seeds Berry Ryder
Medium:
Fox Farm Ocean Forest in 3 gallon pots:
Light:
300/180w LED Grow Light "Big Green". Direct From China to your local similar ebay listing here
I wanted to use an alternative to HPS in an indoor closet environment. This is an interesting looking panel that I havent seen others using, though it's hard to search when there's no name or markings. It seems to have the needed spectrum and it lights up purple like everyone elses. It's got switches for 'veggie' and 'flower' mode. Flower mode adds 14 red LED's.
Light Schedule:
Weeks 1-5
Fertilizers:
Fox Farm Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom.
I'm using the feeding schedule found in FD's guide to hefty autos found here. I waited till day 20 before messing with nutes.
Air Flow:
6" fan sits above the LED panel next to the closet door opening. The door is kept open a crack to help even out temps. Both plants receive wind from the top, and LED intake receives some air.
Heat:
The mixture of the LED panel exhaust and heated humidifier air keeps the closet between 23/75-30/85 c/f. Humidity normally constant @ 40-50% vegging, now @ 30-40% for flowering. Controlled with 1g humidifier.
The story so far:
I have two plants growing on day 41, Plant A and Plant B. 'A' is happy and healthy @ 25" tall (about an inch a day for quite a while now).
Plant 'B' is a runt @ only 16", but she seems quite happy and healthy otherwise. 'B' had trouble from the start with the seed casing and I had to pluck it off. What's more, she fell over in the soil on day 11 during watering. I propped her back up and tamped down the soil a bit. I suppose my soil was not firm enough initially.
The quick grow log:
Week 1: Germ and sow in 3g pots under CFL bulbs. Spray bottle water the top of the soil etc.
Week 2 (day 8): Removal of CFL, addition of LED @ 18" away, veg & bloom modes = on.
Week 2.5 (day 11): First real watering - 1/2 gallon per pot, 6.5 ph'ed oxygenated distilled water.
Week 3.5 (day 19): Bloom LED = off, Start Nute supplement
Week 5.5 (day 34): Bloom LED = on, Lighting changed to 20/4 from 24/0, Humidity lowered to ~ 38%.
Week 6: Just watching them grow!
And finally some pics!

Phew, that was a lot of writing...time to smoke a bowl and read form forum posts. Thanks again to everyone on this site. I really appreciate all the time and effort everyone puts in here.
