New Grower My First AFN Journal ~~Original OG Kush auto in 15 gallon pot~~ Stop in and Say hello!

Good work growers ur advice is bang on.3rd node id say alittle.early if u know its a big strain.top once at the 4th node from day 14 to 20 of life is the perfect time.do not top again.just let her grow untouched for a week after u have topped her.then begin lst;) happy growing every1;)

So when you say top at the 4th node I would leave the 1st thru 4th sets of permanent leaves in place and top it above the 4th set yet?

Just don't count the first ones (i forget the name for them) that the seed came out of as a set of leaves. I've got one that i'll be topping in the next few days

I had deleted these photos off my phone but found I still had them on my computer. This is the last autoflower plant I grew. ZkittleZ is the strain. It ran 11 weeks for me. From start to finish I was removing leaves from this plant. I've never had a plant grow this many leaves. I did top it at one point but not positive at which node. Other then that I didn't do any type of training. I grew her in my homemade soilless medium and fed her MC start to finish. Her last 3 weeks I added a bit of Cha-Ching FF supplement. Because I HATE trimming plants it's probable I will never grow this strain again. Just way too much work trimming it. I added a photo of the 15 gallon root ball.

@Vapo - what's your take on topping twice? Base it on plants that run slightly longer, 12weeks instead of the very short 9-10week plants?
Dude...I only ever top once....In my opinion the trauma an auto experiences from topping once, takes so long to recover from.....that doing it twice would be eating into valuable growing time for an auto.....I have had a couple of snaps thru tie downs, which I suppose is like(?) a second top and that side NEVER does as well as the other......I wouldn't do it, personally!!...hope this helps dudes...:pass:

Thanks for popping in @Vapo . I appreciate the voice of experience offering a helpful hand.

Can I ask you this, do you ever remove the first node after topping a plant? I've seen where some grower are in the practice of topping at the fourth node and removing the first node the same time.

Funnily enough dude, I did this today..:headbang:..I remove the first, second and the fourth all in one go dude....all the heavy work done at the start, then it's just steering her the right way...:pass:
