New Grower My First AFN Journal ~~Original OG Kush auto in 15 gallon pot~~ Stop in and Say hello!

Nice work. Just caught up on your journal. I'm only in my second grow so it's nice to see others grows to compare notes. I'll be following along here.

I dont know that I've seen anyone trim out the lower nodes that early before. But these girls are hardly. I ended up trimming mine off shortly after topping to try and promote vertical growth. As far as early on training, I used 12" long lengths of coated copper wire and now I tied the branches down to the side of the pots and pulled those wires out. I'm at day 62 after a stunted early veg cycle (damn pH) and late topping.

@DDubs It is definitely a learn as you go hobby for me. I didn't want to be micromanaged by any stretch of the imagination but had hoped for just a little hand holding at crucial moments in the grow. Not sure how to ask for that and get it here so I plod along doing what seems to make the best sense to me. I'll get there, it will just take me a bit longer. I absolutely do learn as I make mistakes.

Happy to have you along. Your plant has the shape I think you were after. Now next time don't do whatever it was you did that stunted your plant this time and with luck and work out next plants will be bigger and healthier. Maybe at some point we can start a plant at the same time.

For sure. Every bean is different and everyone's grow is equally different. I think people will chime in at critical points. It looks like you have good photo plant experience, autos can't be too far off, right? I tortured my first grow and still had some buds. I would think each one should be better than the last.

There are definitely similarities between photos and autos yes. But I think in my opinion there are more differences. I think if I can get autos dialed in they might be about all I'll grow.

Diary update for today 4/10/21 for the Original OG Kush auto. That's right LIKE hunters, you get a free extra like today.

My OG Kush auto has started her flowering cycle. I am going to continue training her towards the edge of the pot to get as much separation as I can between branches before I stop and let her go vertical. Never done this before so I hope she'll still go vertical in another week.

I already a convinced auto grower! Photo's don't work in my greenhouse as I have lots of light pollution from a nearby factory...

Diary Update for today 4/10/21 for my Quarter Pounder auto X Dark Devil cross I bred last summer. She sprouted 29 days ago and appears to me to be nice and healthy. I topped her above the 4th node leaving nodes 2, 3, and 4 in place. I have been training the side branches from nodes 2 and 3 but after topping this plant the two off shoots are really thick and do not want to be bent horizontal. I tried the other day and they started to split apart so I won't be doing that damage to her. I think this should be a good cross with both parents with high THC content, both sativa dominant, and the DDA potentially bringing purple to the plants buds. We'll see how it goes.

@AutoBobje That is one of the things I like a lot about autos. I could put one on a plant stand in my hallway with a light suspended over it and it would do its thing.

Not much visual change to note. The Original OG Kush secondary branches (I guess that's what I'll call them) have started to shoot up out of the canopy and are starting to bud. The main branches I've been training are still being tied down. I am thinking I will stop moving the skewer sticks out anymore and just let the plant go vertical at this point.

One point of interest I spotted a few roots visible in the holes at the side/bottom of the OG Kush auto plant this morning. So she has at least filled the pot top to bottom. Not sure how wide her root mass is or how dense it is but to me it's a good sign seeing roots at the bottom of the pot.

And I'm sure you guys have gotten tired of seeing photos of my Jellium Punch plants buds. I'm happy to report I harvested her this week so she is gone forever. I took a test nugget off her last Sunday and snapped a couple pictures of the now dried bud today. Thought I would share one last bud pic from this plant.
