More hermies from selfied Fems?

Thanks man yeah im gonna try as you said to stagger them a few weeks. Im a bit pissed off because i spent some money i didnt need to on regular seeds i wished id had known about reversing fems sooner. Oh well. i guess i can try and make a hybrid from the two strains i got. Picked up some free fem beans too. I got Onyx from short stuff never grew her before so dont really know where she sits in terms of quality smoke.

So here's the real kicker, you're likely going to end up still buying more seeds anyway. Now that you've got a taste of pollen chucking it'll become addictive. Next your going to start buying seeds because you want to collect all the yummy genetics :crying:

so true. ive always dreamed of having a coffee shop style stash of say 30+ strains at any point. Maybe that will have to stay a dream because my mrs freaks out if she knows im growing. she likes a smoke now and again but she dosnt want the law at our place.

@Robg1808
*edit* -- ..... those Onyx .... PM me, we can talk.

@GeorgeCloney ... lawyer-man says, gotta take such a thing directly to PM, never in open forum... :thanks:

its a great point i wasnt even aware of how fem seeds were made up until a week ago.... so how many times can you fem them like this before you run into problems? like slow growth and smaller buds stuff like that? is this even an issue? im guessing you keep the original pollen for as long as possible and use it to pollinate future females

You can breed indefinitely with female pollen-donors instead of males. If you inbreed, by repeated selfing or full-sib crosses (where you could use female pollen donors, or regular-sexed m/f inbreeding), you will start to see inbreeding depression in most lines relatively quickly. But that has to do with the breeding scheme and the genetics of starting germplasm, not that you are reversing a female to pollinate.

Hi everyone new here and this is my first post been on rollitup for years got some autoflowers recently from Mephisto and was wanting to make my own beans... So it is quiet safe to self an auto? If you have tried this and grown out the seeds what were the results? Did they carry the same potency , structure ,vigour?

I haven't been able to tell the difference between original, selfed and f1 crosses of the same strain. I am of the belief CS or STS is the procedure the seed banks use to mass produce fem and auto seeds.

Yes its safe to self. Though its easier with better timing to reverse one plant and pollenate another. Even if its the same strain. Selfing works if theres only 1 seed. But of you have 2 available, I'd use them.
Ive grown out a few of my own crosses and have had great results.
Though id suggest against selfing any illuminautos. The offspring (basically f2) are a genetic scatterplot. Unless thats something you want.
