The square part that clips into the tray should be flat, and the float will bob a little bit on the silicon. Looks like you need to push down and wiggle a bit, takes some convincing I find to get mine to seat proper.

You say the half moon sets INTO? if so mine just rests against it. Also I’m testing one with water now and although it’s not flooded yet, now that there’s quite a bit of water in it, my entire valve floats. There’s about an inch of water inside the 3.9g empty pot as well. Doesn’t look like it’s gonna floss tho

No you did it wrong. See attached image of yours I edited. The part I circled is supposed to go up inside the part I drew an arrow to. It won’t just drop right on you will need to push it down onto there.
