New Grower Mephisto Strawberry Nuggets, 4 Assed Monkey & Fantasmo Express x Sour Stomper

Yeah it should be good for a bit in that case but I'm no expert on coco so wait till you got some decent true leaves grown and go with what your gut tells you and start low.

Unless any coco growers out there can give you more insight? Will be using the same as you next time round as I can't carry a 50l bag of lightmix home on my bike again lol would be good to know so I'll find out and let you know :toke:

Right mate so I've found the answer for you
So you're gonna want to start out light but start feeding with every water as soon as possible to encourage quick and strong root growth.

Here's a decent coco guide and a passage that helped me.
https://www.autoflower.org/threads/c-es-easy-coco-guide-ver-0-3-2013.22649/

"It isvery important to feed with every watering in coco. Even from day 0. A totally nuteless medium will discourage roots from growing rapidly, so start with 0.5-0.6EC for the first week, and I recommend you use products like rhizotonic as they really help in coco.

By the end of week 1, or around day 10, you should be upping your EC to around 0.8-1.0 already. The plants themselves will let you know once they need more.
After the end of week 2 start increasing your EC by 0.1 each 5 days or week, depending on your plants. I would go to a maximum of 1.2-1.4 in veg, 1.4-1.8 in flower. This changes with strains as some need more and some need less."

:worship:Thanks dude, that's the post I was after!
Interesting stuff too as it goes against what i've been told previously but is kinda what I'd thought from my last grows where the seedlings appeared a little hungry. Everything always looked a little limp and yellow before the nutes came into the picture.

With this in mind, I will follow the General Hydro trio recommended schedule but at 25% today, then increase the levels throughout the week seeing how they respond.

I've never used anything that was specifically for the roots before and don't have anything to hand but might look at incorporating something in addition to the Great White. Interesting what @C.E2 has to say about AN nutes on final flavour. I'm not 100% convinced on the GH Trio series as even after a flush and a cure there's a little more harshness than expected but this could have been a slight over-dry due to the exceptionally warm summer we had in the UK. Maybe that'll come out in the cure now that I've added some Boveda packs. Never the less, I think I'll try some AN nutes next grow, they cost a fortune here in the UK though...

Take it from me, 50L bag of coco isn't much easier!

hey dude, I'm about to start a new journal today (i will drop the link). I've decide to go through my system and explain what I do from seed to chop. This will included how I feed and treat my coco. I think it could just be the thing you after.

Soil always seemed more difficult to me!

I know what you mean there's definitely less control, I guess coz soil is some diverse ecosystem (or at least should be) and its really easy to make feeding mistakes and get the consistency wrong when you switch brand but theres something about plants in soil that is a little more instinctive to me yanno but that's probably coz I grew up in the country working for the golden oldies doing their gardens so it's what I know. Is why I'm switching to coco tho as for horticulture you need experience with soilless and coco seems a good cross over to hydro system maintenence from soil
