New Grower Mephisto Strawberry Nuggets, 4 Assed Monkey & Fantasmo Express x Sour Stomper

Proper distance between your full spectrum LED grow lights and your plants are important to robust photosynthesis and growth. G8LED grow lights provide the wavelengths of light your plants need for healthy growth and maximum flowering. Plants will reach for the much-coveted light source just like they grow towards the sun in outdoor conditions. As the size and intensity of the light increases, so should the distance from the plants. This means that LED light panels of different power ratings will perform best at different distances. Distance to hang Grow Lights from the top of the plant canopy: 300w 14-30inches
600w 16-36inches

As your plants grow and reach for the light, raise the light to keep the distance between the plants and light fairly constant. If you want the plants to stretch, continue raising the light as the plants grow. The plants will reach for the light source and grow taller. Stop raising the light when you do not want more length or when flowering. For shorter, bushier plants decrease the distance. If you keep the distance fixed, the plants will find an equilibrium height and grow wider and denser. If the light is too close it may be too intense and stunt growth and create discoloration. Follow the recommended distances and adjust as necessary

Hope that helps a little bro :coco:

Thanks guys, especially @Medimadness for the detailed reply.

I've maintained the distance of the light and kept it at 400W, which i will do until we get nearer flower. At day 16 from germ it feels like growth's been a little slow to be honest, but perhaps I'm just impatient.

Both of the Strawberry Nuggets looking good.

4 Assed Monkey still looking a little scraggy. If I'd planted two of these I'd probably pull this one, but hey, knowing Mephisto I'm sure all will be good in the end.

first couple of weeks is long bro! i’m trying to figure how to kick start them at that age. what temps are you running at out of interest?
They're at around 23/4c most of the time, but the weather has been crazy this past week so it's dropped a little low a couple of times. Things could be warmer I know but I don't have any way to increase that other than turning up the light which feels a little early.

The last grow was during our unseasonably warm summer, so keeping temps up is a whole new battle for me.

i feel like heat management is the toughest part to keep consistent...bit of an art to it, i think. sticking to 400w is a good idea.

i just checked back and my average temperature for my girls first week was 22 degrees, measured in and around the pots. i felt growth was on the slow side, too. i'm aiming for 26-28 degrees to start off the next one to see if it gives it a boost in the first two weeks, but i've had to invest in more kit to do so...

hopefully they start giving something back soon :weed::weed::weed:

I agree with @Froot n Fuel the first couple weeks are annoyingly long as the plant focuses on thickening that stem to support larger growth its hard to see results but dw things are moving along they look good.

If you pick up a hot water bottle and fill it (a safe amount, don't want boiling water exploding on the plants) with hot water and find some way to suspend in the centre of the tent it'll radiate heat out evenly and will raise the temp in a grow tent by like 1/2 degrees which can make all the difference. I used a couple during germ when the lights were off to take the temp from 19c to 25c.
Is a pain though so I bought a small convection heater that I just put by the intake for a few mins at night does the trick.
Or maybe if you lessen your extractor? To like 75%, would help a bit. Just watch the humidity this time of year

And @NiceOption your welcome :) I'm still coming to grips with LED myself and I always find sharing info helps me understand it better, probes because I actually read it so I don't sound like a twat so thank you haha! :crying: if it's an consolation I think most UK LED growers going to struggling with the sudden temp drop. I know i am!

You’re looking good at just over 2 wks. I know it’s tough at first, but in 2 more weeks you won’t believe how much they’ve exploded in growth. I know I started a 2nd partly because my first wouldn’t flower and needed a photoperiod. But really I think it was a convenient excuse I told myself. Truthfully, I think 90 days is just tooooo long for me to wait! I suffer from a patience deficit and I just can’t wait that long. That’s why I’m planning starting a 3d, so I can have a new rotation every month. Good luck and happy growing!
