Indoor Mephisto Strawberries and Cheese

it cant be that bad that you not gonna show the nch,can it :peek:
:pighug:

Lol she’s in recovery mode. I think she’s gonna bounce back but the claws on the tips of her leaves are absolutely the worst I have ever personally had on a plant in my tiny garden. In hindsight I should have a shut off valve on each tray and in the event something like this happens again I’d be able to shut off the individual tray and help limp her through for a week or so on a much lighter feed.

The new growth does appear to be looking better at least so far... but check out the claws on this thing :face:

And while I’m at it I may as well throw down a tent shot even though my weekly update is only a few days away....

I will be doing some more defoliating on the strawberry nuggets (right) to allow more light into her tight Bush. When I open the tent I’m immediately greeted by a biscuity aroma coming off of her that really reminds me of the forgotten cookies I grew... strange... hoping she takes on more of a berry aroma later on as her branches become heavy with swollen buds

Plants are 5 weeks old today, and all seems to be well aside from the slip up on the Northern Cheese Haze and her nitrogen tox. She appears to be coming out of it now, of course the clawed leaves will remain that way but the new growth looks good. She also looks like she’s about to take off and stack a bunch of height on. The AutoCob above her is now pinned to the ceiling so hopefully she doesn’t get too crazy... I’d be ok with another 6 inches though. Any more than that and it’s going to be time to start thinking about supercropping branches.

Feed in the res consists of
3 ml botanicare calmag+
2.5 grams megacrop
1 gram sweet candy
(Per gallon)

At the next res fill up I plan to drop megacrop to 2 grams and add a half gram of bud explosion

Another quick little trim to let some light in (she’s just a thick bush only standing 9.5 inches above the dirt, topped and tied down)

And for good measure, here’s a tent shot (taken before I cleaned up the forgotten strawberries and removed some more fans blocking light)

One week ago today two new seedlings broke the surface in my tent, and I’ve decided to record their progress here in a journal mostly to make it easier for me to keep track of things.

The two strains are Forgotten Strawberries, and Northern Cheese Haze (both from Mephisto Genetics)

Medium is soil, fed megacrop in autopots.

Lighting is two 3500k autocobs from @BigSm0 at cobshop.net

The Forgotten Strawberries has quickly outpaced the Northern Cheese Haze despite being the second one to surface.

They will be transplanted into standard 3.9 gallon autopots tomorrow evening. The plan is to top them both unless the FS is more strawberry nuggets leaning and stays short and fat. I’m hoping this one is a nice blend of the two parent strains and gets a little more size on her.

Let’s see how committed I can stay to this journal, and keep up with posting weekly updates on progress
You better stay committed because I am tagging along and following! Ha ha....XOXO

The fun part has arrived :woohoo1:

I will do a full weekly update Monday but here is a look at the forgotten strawberries tonight. When you open the tent you are greeted with a biscuity aroma, but as soon as she’s disturbed you smell sweet mixed berries. I’m excited to see how she develops over the next few weeks.

The northern cheese haze doesn’t really have a smell to her, but Mephisto says in the strain description that the odor level on this strain is low. So I’m not sweating it

Six weeks old today, cruising right along.

Over the weekend I shut off the res and allowed the trays to empty so I could give the plants a dose of recharge and mammoth p. I filled each tray twice and allowed them to empty again before refilling the res with fresh nutes and turning it back on.

Feed consisted of (per gallon of RO water)
3 ml botanicare calmag+
2 grams megacrop
1 gram sweet candy
0.5 gram bud explosion

Next fill up I will raise bud explosion to a full gram

I originally purchased the metal racks the plants are sitting on so i could raise and lower them individually to keep an even canopy (pain in the ass), but now that I have the autocobs I’m trying out just keeping one above each plant at the appropriate height. It’s a small tent so of course the taller plant will have one side close to a low hanging light, but so far I’m not seeing any problems

The Northern Cheese Haze that was the slower growing plant from the start has shot up and now towers over her sister

Today marks 7 weeks and so far things have been relatively smooth. The plants looked a little hungry when I dialed back the megacrop to add in bud explosion and I thought I was seeing what appeared to be a P deficiency starting in the forgotten strawberries so I increased feed to 3 grams MC and 0.75 grams bud explosion per gallon. Now I’m not so sure it’s not just tip burn, but I’ve never seen that all down the SIDES of the leaf serrations as well. It’s alwas been just the tips when I’ve had it happen in the past.

Anyway here’s the pictures

And as usual a group shot, plus I’ve included a photo of what’s going on with the FS leaves that had me scratching my head a little. The NCH looks fine, even with the light being way too close. (12 inches now, I ran out of room to raise the light. I need a taller tent!)
