I killed my first two. They are very very thick skinned and even though I scarified them they didn’t pop in 24hrs so left them in water 48 hours. Then think I cooked them, so basically just turned them to mush after five days. This time I soaked for 24 and then to paper towel even though they didn’t crack. Within 48 hrs had 1/2” tsp roots before going into first plug.
I use tap water that’s at about 7.5 and the add some GH rapid start to bring it down to 5.7. I use this for my soaking water for seeds and the cubes. My tap ppm is 300 but mostly calcium and minerals that have never given me an issue.
Always more room in the the hike. Just make sure the guy behind you keeps his eye on the trail. Don’t want anyone tripping over roots.
@Machamillion consider yourself tagged. Just be warned the campfire stories can be long and might not make any sense on this little trip of ours. The stops at the machinists camp and the chemists might be a bit intense. And I guarantee that st some point there will be an argument. But if we get to the end hopefully we can all say we remembered it well.
