New Grower Medi's Medical grow

Amen to that Trapper, every day without incident is a day they spent sprinting toward the goal rather than limping, so I'm a happy dude.

.:Day 8:.

I don't think the pictures will show it very well, but there is some wrinkling and an almost imperceptible limpness to the leaves. I'm guessing this is because I gave them a honking dose of water, and they picked up some of the nutrients from the Ocean Forrest soil. That should resolve itself pretty quickly though as they dry out, and get a bit older. Other than that I got my hangers in the mail so I replaced the tri-ring paracord hanger I'd made, and I can now ratchet my lights, which is quite convenient. My tent comes in Wednesday as does my Sensizym, so I'll be making use of both of those then. I know this probably seems like an almost obsessively frequent update schedule, but I'm trying to keep a log going so if/when something comes up I will have this forensic archive to steer my troubleshooting. Anyway, hope you're all having a good Monday!

I think you're right...moistening all the fert in the FFOF might have pressed her a bit. Might have been a little on the wet side too...

But what do I know.

You don't have to justify the amount of posts in your journal to anyone (especially not to me...I'm on day 9 and page 17) The first
one is the most important because you (we) will refer to it often and it's best to keep track of everything. Archive is better than memory.

Since posting last the leaves have started to show a slight curl upward(likely the continuation of the wrinkling from earlier). As far as the soil being too wet I don't think it is based on the fact that it's a good mix of 1/3 perlite to 2/3 FFOF which is already a light mix. And the bottom has a perlite irrigation layer to allow maximum runoff. My temps have been staying a solid 81 in the afternoons until I get home, I wonder if this isn't part of what's going on there. It's hard to control temperature in that box, so I'm going to just hang in there until my tent comes in on Wednesday, once it's in a permanent place I can really start to improve conditions, and achieve more consistency.

If ur talking about the very slight curl on the largest leaves there I don't think that's anything you need to worry about at all, pretty much all my plants have wrinkled slightly curled leaves like that in the beginning but if ur worried that the temps are causing that make sure there's plenty of circulation and air flow around her :Sharing One:

That's reassuring fweedom, thanks! I'm not freaking out about it, I check on them 4 times a day so I'm able to see slight changes but I try to temper my reaction accordingly. My thoughts are actually that a little stress along the way is a good thing, if Cannabis is anything like grapes the best of them live in the harshest conditions, there's a name for it in Provence that's escaping me right now. I think this kind of stuff happens because they have such small vascular systems that even the slightest variation in PH, nutrient levels, temperature, etc. has a larger impact. while I'm home I exchange the air in the room the cabinet is in several times throughout the night, I'm not sure if my wife is doing the same during the day, that might account for some of it also.

Be sure to feed very lightly if your using OF. When i used to use it i would wait till around week 4 or till the colydons started to yellow to add any nutes. Then i would start the Grow big at like 1/8 strength and go up from there. With autos IMO less is more, Ive found if i fed to early since the OF was so hot it would stunt the plants leaving them very short. You might be able to get away with using big bloom earlier since the NPK is so low.

Also when measuring your nutes go off the lower recommended dose. For example if it says 2-3 teaspoons do 1/4 of 2 teaspoons not 3. good luck man :Sharing One:

here ya go dude. the "Who's a Vet" Thread.thought ya may wanna lend to it..?

Also instead of using watering cans n such you can try while they are still small, using a small spray bottle n spray their Base.works reaallly well so it dont disrupt the soil n cause low points n expose any young roots.work for me anywho.

Thanks bro, I had already planned to start at least 1/4 of what was listed. What's listed is 1 tsp/gal, so I used a 1/2 tsp measure, poured it into a gallon of water, stirred it well, took a half full bottle of water, poured half the contents of the first bottle into it, then filled the first bottle back up with a third bottle. I can always dilute that down one more time to get to 1/8. No matter what I wasn't going to give anything for two weeks, now I'm thinking more like 3 or 4 based on recent events.

I actually was thinking about doing that as well, my only concern was that keeping the surface of the soil moist would slow down root growth. Anyway, I contributed to that thread, thanks!

.:Day 10:.

This is actually day 7 from germination, but I wanted to start at day 0. Got the tent in today, set it all up, and put the girls inside. Not a lot going on with them lately, they apppear to be growing a little before they get ready to shoot up or out. I'm happy to see they're at least staying squat, which I expected with an NL. I've taken a picture of each of the girls, and another of their general area for now. I'm missing proper ventilation, but I was expecting to be able to pick up booster fans at my local Lowes, but they don't have them so I'll have to go across town to a place I know I'll be able to find them on Friday.

For now I'm using passive ventilation, and fans to circulate, the temp is staying a steady 77 degrees, and humidity is sitting around 50%. Rather than doing an air exchange every few hours I'm just leaving the door to the closet cracked open, and it's been keeping the temps a lot more consistent. Anyway, let me know what you think of how they look for day 7 growth.

edit: Realized it had been 3 days since last watering, and while they weren't hurting for it, I decided to go ahead and give them 2 quarts a piece. Water went in at ~7.2, out at ~6.8. I probably could have waited until tomorrow, but I knew I wouldn't have time in the morning, and they'd be a little on the dry side by late afternoon.
