New Grower Medi's Medical grow

I chickened out on the scrog....didn't want to many x-factors on the maiden voyage. In retrospect, with the height issues I experienced, it may have been a good idea.

More courage, more reward...:)

I think you'll be rewarded for your choices though your Queen seems to really be piling on the weight, for one thing the addition of CO2 is going to pay off pretty big I think.

Yeah, CO2 will be part of every grow for me...period. :)

I'm hoping Ronin's test with the new MyCO2bag that's customer activated goes well....An extra $26 per grow for that to be in place seems like a no brainer.

"kudos" I'm mad late to the party, but I hope it's cool if I join this little soirée! Nice journal, Medi. Very detailed. Made me realize I need to step my game up and start providing more information for those that are taking the time to stop through. Awesome scrog setup!! This is my first grow, and I am really considering scrogging. So when the time comes, maybe I can hit you up for some advice? Those girls are sexy, man!

No worries on the late arrival TGB and thanks for the kind words and for following along. I'll be more than happy to help you get your scrog going when you're ready just let me know.

Thanks, bro. I appreciate any assistance you provide. I'm here to learn, grow quality buds, and meet like minded, chill people, and so far so good![emoji41]

.: Day 22 :.

It's been a few days since I've said it so.... Day 19 from sprout, 22 is from seed.

Today has been a tragic day, I've had the dropsies all day, and just generally not a great Monday. That unfortunate reality followed me home from work and I dropped a tape measure on my plant completely cleanly shearing a fan leaf clear off the stem. I guess I should be happy it was clean, but the asymmetry is going to keep me up at night. At any rate when I dropped the tape measure it knocked some soil onto the floor of my tent so I grabbed my wet vac which I keep for just such an occasion. While I was cleaning up the mess I'd made my wife called my name and I turned around to see what she wanted and thwoop went half a leaf on the other plant so that they can both be equally traumatized. You just can't make this stuff up...

Other than that the mogul hanger came in for my 125w 2100K CFL, so that's now replaced the 5K 27w pair I was using to supplement my led. I've decided to drop the CFL through the net and let it add light to the body of the girls to make up for the lack of penetration of the underpowered LED. At minimum I'll be turning them morning, my wife will cover noon, and I'll turn them twice between late afternoon and late night. That way they'll get a fairly even amount of love. I'll be ordering the new LED on Thursday which should hopefully help with the overall light, and hopefully help make up for my shortcomings along the way in terms of yield.

I'm looking forward to a day when I have so much extra meds kicking around I can start grows that I don't NEED to sustain my supply. I'm not a very heavy user, I'm planning on 3 grams a week which would be around one and a half times what I consume now. Having the need to produce supply is nerve wracking on days like today. Anyway, it has taken me 4 hours to finish this post and I'm just burnt on today so hope you are all having some great growth and smooth sailing today. Peace

Damn, sounds like that was one hell of a rough day, Medi! Glad to know that in the end, the girls made it out okay. On page 10 of your journal, and steadily catching up, and this is one great read! Lots of great info. I know I've said it before, but that scrog setup is niiiiice! :grat:

sounds like a winner buddy.the only recommendation on that scope(since I own many)is Id look for an LED lit jewlers loupe style.those are fine but you pretty much have to shove them onto the flowers.I prefer to keep them off the flowers personally.:smoke:

I agree. Got the exact same scope, and I'm beginning to think I shoulda went with a jeweler's loop, as it has to be sitting right on the bud. It's cool though, because I'm getting used to using it by checking out the buds I get from the weed guy!

Thanks Gman. I started playing with how white shift works on my camera, and decided to get a shot of what several hours after training has done to the ladies and I have to say I'm quite happy with the bounce back. So without further ado.

I'm checking out your scrog pics, trying to learn a lil' something' before I get to that point, and it looks like the tops are left to grow straight up. Is that the case, or are they eventually bent under the net, too? I know the answer is most likely a couple pages up, but I don't want to skip any pages of the journal, & I don't want to forget the question by the time I get to the end of it

Is that your grow with the Skywalker Kush in it? The short answer is no, if you're in veg it's a great time to start. Just take all your vertical shoots, lay them horizontally underneath the net, and when it comes time to flower try to get them all evened out and leave them. I found this video helpful, hopefully you do too.

I know it's not a complicated procedure, but whenever I read about scrogging, for some reason I always turned it into a complicated matter in my mind. Watched that short video, and now it seems so much less intimidating. Good lookin' out, Medi!
