MedCzech's ManCave BioTabs HARVEST cont'd...
Girls all trimmed up and hanging in the tent, now the drying room. Temp adjusted to 18C and RH 40-50% for two days, the. I will drop temp to 16C and RH keep the same. They should take between four and seven days to reach level one dry. Then they go in jars and now start the burping process for two weeks. At that point most strains are stable at 58-62% RH in their jars. I don't really need to burp jars after that as I am always opening them to grab a bud everyday nearly.
Organic harvest allows for smoking bud right away if you like. There really is a difference in this regard. In fact, with organic weed the cure is over rated with most strains. If I properly dry the bud and do the two weeks cure, the buds at that point, IMO taste as good as they are ever going to get. There are a few strains that when the real cure happens, colors change, and chemical reactions at the cellular level occur, they are better. For me, most Mephisto strains don't change that much in the six months to two years I have them in jars, and most last only last three to four months anyway.
I smoke my buds right away, and even quick dry in paper bags some of it. If done properly, even the quick dry method can result in buds that give me almost 90% the satisfaction of the fully cured stuff. I just think that is really over rated. I have friends that agree with me as well, and think the newer, frostier strains taste so good right after drying due to the high number of trichomes, versus the weed that has high levels of resin and needs a longer cure to reduce harshness. Man, I just smoked some of the Chem Stomper which hasn't even fully dried yet, and it was smooth as hell and kicked my ass! Flavor 10/10 Grape Chemical Candy, soooo goood!
A cure won't make this much better.
On to the going on in the ManCave...

And overhead shot Tom show how the Bendz trainers push the stems out wide and allow light to all those little sites down low which now have these rock hard little nugs, not popcorn fluff...

The Orange Biscuit and her dark emerald green foliage. This one has a little more zip I her flavor, more Chem or diesel from the sour orange diesel genetics, and a littlest more yield than her predecessor.
Should give around 100 grams I would think. The buds are very heavy, medium density with this strain. They get their weight from the resin and oil levels being so high.
She ate the most from all the other plants by nearly double.

Working on the PN first thing this morning was a treat. I was smoking the scissor hash before she was even trimmed all the way. Super tasty stuff in the scissor hash. Very heavy duty smoke with red wine spice and berry aftertaste, mixed the the indica mouth feel and lingering effect that you can taste well after you hit the pipe.

I didn't trim them too tight, up they were so easy to do due to their perfect bud structure. The GG was much more work.
Still much to do and the. Get the report to you on how the smoke turned out and what the yields are. I can say that after trimming and hanging all the nugs, I tried again to guesstimate how much might be their total, and I got around 300+ grams as well. I do think the original estimates I gave are going to be very close. In that case I am very satisfied with this first Grow using BioTabs. I have a couple ideas how to improve things! New lights may be coming this fall! Maybe something big too. I have been contemplating the Electric Sky, QB boards generation 3 with multispectrum including UV and IR, California Lightworks full spectrum control with additional UV, or just adding two more cobs to what I have now. I have some decisions to make for sure.
