Time for more observations by @mcpd_refugee:
.) This was supposed to be a simple little inexpensive experiment. I was supposed to run into problems and figure out what I was doing wrong. I was supposed to completely fumble something somewhere and somehow stunt her growth. None of this is happening. She is continuing to grow at a pretty good clip. Just when I think she’s slowing down, she explodes with new growth overnight. Next time I run DWC, I am going to bend the whole plant completely over starting around Day 10 and I’m going to keep her on the deck until she’s put on considerable growth before I even THINK about letting her go skyward.
.) On one of her stems, there are two leaves showing a brown rust. I think it’s probably a potassium’s buildup from when I increased the Bud Explosion, but I can’t be sure...well...because I’m never sure of anything. It is only on the two leaves and only on the one stem an nowhere else on the plant. I am keeping an eye out because I have a history with the rust. For now, though, I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing and let it slide.
.) The other day, I said in a post that I may have a few tricks up my sleeve regarding the height of my lights, I have and idea that will give me another 12 to 18 inches (30 to 46 cm) of headroom. It’s a risky move given the situation in the tent right now. However, I could take my fan and filter out of the top of the tent and stand them upright on the floor of the tent. I can foresee a couple of issues with this. First, there’s the danger to the plant. She’s too big to move out of the tent at this point, so I would have to work right over her. The fan/filter combo is heavy AF. I could drop it. I could damage the plant just moving it down. Then there’s the fact that this would change the environmental dynamic in the tent (sucking air down and not up). The heat from the lights is currently being sucked out of the top of the tent. Changing that may change her growth or health. I don’t know for sure that this would happen...well...because I’m never sure of anything. Finally, I’m not even sure that she wouldn’t just grow even taller to the lights. I’m not going to lie, though, a 6 foot (183 cm) plant gets me a little .I could also move the lights out to the edge of the tent and try to rig them up so I can slightly angle them back towards the middle. I think that this might also work. Any thoughts or opinions?
.) I’m not sure how people handle growing such monster plants. I’m not going to lie, it’s kinda freaking me out a little bit, because I wasn’t expecting it. I could get used to it, though - especially if I ever get more room to grow.
.) Mephisto Genetics, cobshop.net and Greenleaf Nutrients. I cannot speak highly enough about these companies and their products. If you haven’t used them, do yourself a favor and seriously consider it. They can make even an inexperienced noob look like a master gardener.
