Mephisto Genetics MCPD_Refugee’s Experiment with DWC and Double Grape

those flowers only look a few days behind my soil grown girls of the same age - very impressive

just thinking about the amount of frost she is gonna produce gets me all Christmas-y

Still looking great. Keep up the good work

She will kill it for you. Keep her in water and she will reward you. Just think before you do anything, well silly you know what I mean. I am using 3.62 grams per gallon of MC. I am not using anything else, but we are running different systems so you do what you feel you should. She looks like a real winner. You will be all smiles in a month or so.

Looking great bro I think you could be right in thinking your near the halfway mark she is flowering alot earlier than mine was

:pass:

Thanks, fellas. I really appreciate the kind words.

A couple of observations:

1.) She’s still growing. I measured this morning and she’s standing at almost 31 inches (~79 cm). I hope she stops stretching soon or I’m going to run out of room.

2.) She looks very much like a sativa dominant phenotype. Her branches are thin. Her structure is open and airy. The internodal distance is bigger than I would have thought. I’ve not heard or read anything about such a thing. So, this leads me to believe that there is something I’m doing wrong here. Have I had my lights too far away, you think? Is there anything you can see that I’m doing wrong? @mephisto, is there a sativa-leaning pheno? By the way, Mephisto, keep doing what you’re doing. By far the best company to deal with and your products are absolutely amazing.

3.) DWC is no joke the best way to grow absolute monster plants. I’ve never grown anything this big before - fruit, vegetable or flower. It is an inexpensive way to kick your growing up to the next level. It is also a lot easier than I imagined. It is like you fuss over the plant until the roots hit the reservoir and then it goes on an autopilot express flight to the top of your tent. I’m not sure I would always want to grow plants this big, but if I ever do, I will know how to do it.

4.) This is the furthest I’ve gotten into a grow without any nutrient problems at all. I’m not sure what kind of juju @Greenleaf Nutrients used when they formulated Mega Crop, but I have to hand it to them, they’ve made a believer out of me. Their products are, hands down the easiest nutrients to use. And they get results.

5.) @BigSm0 and cobshop.net are the way to go for lighting. I had an HLG QB 288 prior to getting my hands on a couple of autocobs and the autocobs are proving to be better. Not that I’m slagging the QB. It’s just that the QB was too much light for my needs. The autocobs are a superior product because they are individually height adjustable and you can add or subtract autocobs as needed. I couldn’t be happier.

Thank you, @Froot n Fuel. I’m with you. I can’t wait to see how she finishes. I’m thinking that she’ll finish up some time around Thanksgiving - just in time to properly give thanks. But I’m sure her flower will last until Christmas...of 2020.
:crying:

just talking out loud about point 2) above...we had similar stretchy seedlings due to our inexperience with cobs. 100% my girls are more open and looser because of it - taller too. Distance between nodes on the main stem is way more than the average plant in my estimations, which I’m assuming has given rise to this structure, slimmer branches etc
not sure if it’s been a detriment to their development overall, but I’m happy enough

@mcpd_refugee i had a sativa pheno she was tall and branchy like yours. Maybe topped out at 35” thinking back but she was in 3 gal pot. In hydro yours will get even bigger. I think she put out like 3-4 ozs too. You should get even more with the hydro. 38” maybe she got.

@Froot n Fuel - I thought I had adjusted my lights pretty well after I saw the seedling stretch. They were between 24 and 28 inches (~61 and 71 cm) above the canopy during the whole grow until flower. Then I’ve been trying to keep them between 18 and 20 inches (~45 and 50 cm) above the canopy. For now, they are where they are. I could only move the lights maybe 1.5 inches (4 cm higher). How high have you been keeping your lights over your grow?

Looking awesome man :d5: :pass: I'm still scared to try :LOLStoned:
@Dabber - maybe you could just experiment with one bucket for fun. Then again, I shudder to think how much headroom you’d need to grow in hydro...if you do, better make sure you have a tall ladder and a chainsaw.:crying:

@Mizzo81 - most journals I’ve seen have the short bushy plants with buds covered in really dense frost. The way this is growing reminds me of a Hubbabubbasmelloscope. I’m glad that you’ve affirmed the existence of a sativa-leaning pheno, though. It puts my mind at rest a bit. I’m still not convinced that I haven't screwed something up. Is your double grape in your Mephisto thread? I’ll go over and have a look around regardless.
