Mephisto Genetics MCPD_Refugee’s Experiment with DWC and Double Grape

@Mañ'O'Green, thanks for checking up on me. I know I'm an idiot most of the time and I truly appreciate the reality check. Just so you know, I topped off her reservoir again this morning with about a liter and a half of 1/4 strength nutrients. She's drinking and, as a consequence, growing too damn fast. I am keeping a close eye on this.

I am not afraid to supercrop her...I would just prefer not to. However, if she keeps on growing like she is, I will have no choice. I figure that, if she doesn't stop growing by this weekend, I will HAVE to bend her over. I am keeping a close eye on this, too.

Believe it or not super cropping can improve the quality of the bud but it wreaks havoc with the bag appeal

This morning, my special lady was standing 42 inches (106 cm) tall with no end to her growth in sight, so I bent over her top two stems to 90 degrees. There are three other stems hanging out around the 36 inch (91 cm) mark, so I’m going to keep an eye on them. I added another liter and a half of 1/4 strength nutrients to her reservoir as well.

I tried to be gentle, but apparently she likes it rough.:naughtystep:

Sorry folks, it’s been a minute since I’ve posted any photos.

Today is Day 47. Based on what I’m seeing in the tent, she’s probably about 2 to 3 weeks behind where I would have expected her to be. Her buds just aren’t developing as quickly as I would have thought. But, I’m a patient man. I can wait on her. Her vegetative growth, on the other hand is still rather explosive. She took to supercropping like a champ and the stems that I bent over have turned skyward and are now growing up again. The canopy is fairly even in height at 40 inches (~100 cm) with a couple of branches that are outgrowing the others. I will keep an eye on those and bend them if need be. I have been taking out the odd leaf here and there when I notice that it’s covering a bud site and im not able to properly tuck it somewhere convenient.

This morning I did a full 3 gallon (12 liter) reservoir change. I upped the Mega Crop to 4 g/gallon from 3.5 g/gallon. Everything else stayed the same.

I have to say that I’m very happy that I haven’t experienced any issues with the nutrients or lights so far.

Happy growing everyone.

DWC and Autos = Longer grow time

It will produce a lot, but take weeks longer than they should. For some people it is worth it. For me, it is not worth the trade off. I use Coco and MC. Small pots. My MC strength is about 4.5g per gal. MC at lower strength also seems to lengthen veg time. Good luck

this is gonna be ridiculous
I just hope that this goes to show you that you don’t have to know what you’re doing to get some decent results. Because, to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what I’m doing about 90% of the time. I usually have a general idea of what to do before I do it, but it’s all just guesswork. The four best decisions I made were all made before the grow even started: 1.) Mephisto Genetics gear; 2.) Autocobs from @BigSm0 at cobshop.net; 3.) Mega Crop and the supplements from Greenleaf Nutrients; and 4.) DWC. This whole setup has pretty much been on autopilot since Day 1. I’m just the idiot peeking in the tent several times a day to get a whiff of what’s growing on.
