Neither of us have been to the west coast thinking about flying out renting a car and driving up the coast sight seeing stuff I wanna see the redwoods  We're open to idea's my only thing it has to be weed friendly :baked:

Let me know if you decide on Cali or want other suggestions out of the country.

If Cali, it all depends on how much time you have. It's a big state and will take multiple trips to see even just the big stuff.

What I usually suggest when people ask about Nor/mid Cali once again depending on how much time you have

Fly into SF. Stay a day or two in the city/go over golden gate to Marin and go to Muir Woods
Drive down the coast to Monterey/Carmel. Stay the night in one of those. Drive the Big Sur coast the next day and come back that night

or if you have time, drive down through Big Sur then cut over and go to Sequoia National Forest for the largest tree in the world. General Sherman. Don't forget to stop by and burn one with @Mañ'O'Green!

if you don't have time for that, Drive Big Sur then come back to Monterrey/Carmel and stay the night. Then cut over and drive to Yosemite for at least two days. You can see sequoias in the park so if you have limited time skip SNF. Yosemite is one of my favorite places on earth!!! It doesn't even seem real. Especially at sunrise/sunset. Book a room ASAP if you wanna go there. April/early may is great as all the waterfalls are goin off. Don't skip Glacier point at sunset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you have time go up to Tahoe and/or Napa/Sonoma then back to SF to fly out

Just some suggestions as you get a full package of city/trees/coast/mountains.

@Mañ'O'Green, sound good or other suggestions?

Hit @Hotfire and @KingRatt if you wanna go to So Cal, but that's another trip. If you want Nor Cal(above SF), that's a different trip as well

That's our thoughts exactly just have to figure out when wife only has a few select times of the year she can get work off :pass:

If you wanna do a quickie up the coast, fly into SF drive up through Portland and Seattle. Long drive! You can go up the coast and cut inland to see certain things

@Lil Dab How much time will you have?

@Fermented_Fruitz the GF sourdough English muffins came out very good. I used a big cast iron frypan to cook them but the heat was too hard to keep steady. Next time I will use the electric griddle. We had to sample one with butter, it was scarfed down in nothing flat. I need to up the sourdough starter to 1.5 cups. The recipe calls for 1 cup. I like my sourdough sour!

if you wanna see the most beautiful sights and drive the coast, i really suggest the Bug Sur, Monterey, Carmel drive down from SF, the whole state is weed friendly, SoCal is more of a place to get a nice cheap air bnb on the beach somewhere, shop the dispensaries and go hitting restaurants and just soak in the weather. NorCal has the dispos and restaurants as well, but youre gonna be staying in the city, which is its own thing and SoCal has that too. Im in San Diego, CA is huge! Keep that in mind. And if you make it thru SD gimme a holler, ill bring the weed!

@Mañ'O'Green, some of the most scenic drives in the country and you're not gonna see on the east coast. Just threw in your neck of the woods as a joke.. But as I stated, you can see sequoias in Yosemite and skip all of the driving toward you and back up

Other than the Big Sur drive, it's only 2 to Carmel from SF and 3.5-4 to Yosemite split up between 3 days. isn't bad. Leave by eight and you're in the Valley by noon. Same back to SF and you have a break in traffic! ...Those hours to Yosemite are well worth it to see one of the natural wonders of the world! They'd also be driving through coastal mountains and the Sierra to get there. You don't see that out east.

You can relax at home...trips for me at least, are to see and do!

The SF to Seattle would be too much driving! But gorgeous...

Just depends on how much time...

Unless you have a flying car those times are not realistic, Yosemite is reservation only and I think they are going to a lottery to get time slots.

We just did a trip from Stockton south and 40+ miles was a giant parking lot that took 2 hours just to cover that distance. Traffic in CA can be perplexingly slow.

I have ideas but they are all time dependent.
