My mother, sister and I have been having this conversation for many years, since her kidneys started failing. Mom has "do not resuscitate" instructions.

Of course we accept this. As a social service worker I have seen the effects of relatives' prolonged suffering on clients and the burden on health care.

The day will come and I won't like it. In the meantime it is about QUALITY of life. 🥰🥰🥰


Yup...my stepdad wanted to die at home...he didn't want to die in a hospital..and they both knew and agreed it...but my mother wasn't getting it.. every time his symptoms worsened she phoned an ambulance...

Natural isn't it... :shrug: ....hard to watch a loved one die without doing something.......

But they ended up taking him to hospital for a few days just to give him the chance to leave...he wasn't gonna get that chance at home.
