Hey @JP1, how gung ho were you when you bought your pizza oven? and how much do you use yours? About to pull the trigger on a Gozney, but still second guessing myself. Those ain't cheap! However, can't get a decent pie here and especially a Neapolitan that is the favorite.

Tryin to tell myself it's cheaper than goin to Naples....
I was planning on building an oven in the back yard and the wife bought me this one as a gift. I used it a bunch for probably the 1st year. Maybe once a month at most when the weather is nice nowadays. Friends like me to bust it out but it's pretty much a novelty at this point. It does work fine but I've got decent pizza around and it's much cheaper to buy a pizza then all the ingredients

I've got a buddy with an ooni with the cast iron pans and he cooks most of his meals in it. Vegetables, steak, chicken, flatbreads... I'd assume the cast iron fits most pizza ovens and makes them much more versatile

You know it is more about learning how to make great pizza dough than the oven, as long as it will get a stone up to 750°F it will be good to go. After that the best quality ingredients Cheese, cheese, cheese and meats. Surprisingly there are many good quality Pizza sauces on the store shelves, Rao's is good. Or just use good olive oil.

This is the best pizza dough recipe out there.

:goodluck:

Brown sugar? Huh. I'll have to try that. This is my go to pizza dough recipe

I'm also not interested in hearing about how much of a mess I make in the kitchen when I'm making dough. Plus it costs $20 for a pizza or $50 to make a couple yourself :bong:

This is true, but really good pizza is worth it because if it costs you $50 bucks for the ingredients to make a good pizza what are they using in a $20 pizza that has all of the costs of employees, rent, power etc.

I can make 10 - 12 pizzas for about $80 including the wood for the oven. Only top shelf ingredients.

You would not believe how much better your dough would be just by using this flour in that recipe:
