Technically don’t need to transplant even! Cut the entire bottom out the cup with the medium and i set it inside a solid colored cup
Thanks! I remember seeing that here years ago. Maybe you?

I strongly considered solo to coco but figured that drip and hydroton / rockwool will grow a bit quicker.

Plus I don't have to disassemble my system on trim/transplant day.

Lmao i def stole that method from someone off here! Guy that got me into earthboxes MrOldBoy but he passed away a while ago so I continued his method! He technically used rootmaker cubes but this was the “cheapo grower” alternative! I have some rootmakers but they are black and with my crappy hand watering skills I wouldn’t ever water them evenly so they left a lot lacking in the root making department for me! With clear solo cups i can see if they are watered or not!:haha::crying:

I am going to get a heat pump mini split system, Man these HVAC guys must be starving. I asked one business on yelp to contact me and I have had 5 in the last hour. They all must know each other and it already smells of price fixing? Well they will be in for a surprise.
Been trying for two years to get a heat pump installed, but no luck, they are all too busy to even give me a quote. I have pretty much given up until at least next summer, likely until our current furnace dies.

Technically don’t need to transplant even! Cut the entire bottom out the cup with the medium and i set it inside a solid colored cup or one wrapped in duct tape so no light on the roots and when time u can just plant the entire solo cup! Kinda serves double purpose too cuz helps u keep away from the new “transplant” when u water so not soaking the roots while u water the pot! View attachment 1719489View attachment 1719490

I use the small 8oz cups too! Tall cups it is difficult and takes time to fully saturate the cups but 8oz are short enough they can wick the water up high enough! Then again i suck at hand watering so maybe shorty cups not necessary for all!:doh::rofl:
All of that care just to water them twice over the next 10 weeks
