Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent ph ec meter?

I use ph drops.

I have a ph meter, and if I'm doing a BUNCH of stuff, like if I'm working on my hydroponic garden outside in the summer and I'm mixing up 100+ gallons in different buckets, then I use it.

But its a pain in the ass to keep calibrating it every few weeks and I always question how accurate it is after a few days because mine always seems to get wonky.

I use the General Hydroponics PH drops. They don't need calibrated, always work, don't run out of batteries, etc. Plus I get to feel like a chemist when I'm using them.

I do better with the drops, as far as pH goes.

Same.

Plus I have my tap water dialed in. I know that 1 gallon of tap water needs 3ml of ph down. I check it every few days just to be sure, but not every time.

And then every few days I check the ph in all my DWC buckets. When the water needs changed, the ph starts going all over the place.
