All healthcare providers will take cash. They may complain that you aren't paying them what they're asking, but, by law, they have to take what you give them.I save some because I can pay the minimum outright and then see what financial aid will cover, plus, u get extra special treatment when u pay cash
The problem is the contracts they sign with insurance companies. They're not allowed to offer the same price to anyone. As a result, they set their prices sky high so that nobody knows what the real price is.
I always start the conversation kinda like:
"We both know you'll accept less than what you're asking. What's the number?" If they decide to play hardball, I tell them that I'll give them $10 this month and we'll have another conversation next month. They can complain, but, by law, they have to take what you give them with a smile. I had one a LONG time ago try to play hardball. We started at $10/mo, then it was $5. On the third month I told the collector it was going to be $2 if they didn't try to come up with a workable payment plan. We settled on half what they were asking for and both considered it a win.
