The way they do tankless here is theres the main unit, then a small unit at point of use.
This eliminates the need to run water for a long time to heat it up, and no need for a hot water loop.
The downsides are the amount of current required, and at some flow rates temp can fluctuate. I'd definately go with thermostatic showers.
The gas ones are very nice, but to retrofit one requires a bigger hole in the wall because the pipe is intake and exhaust(coaxial)
