The bushman killed a baboon and gutted it.
One of them emptied the stomach contents and hung it on a tree branch and scraped more of the green vegetation off with his fingers. Then he started cutting thin strips off and eating it. Lol

Do you render the fat of the stuff you hunt?
Up at the mountain camp the bears mostly subsisted on berries in the fall. No salmon or whitefish runs this far back in the mountains. In the fall bears aren't eating 'stink fish', dead salmon.
So, a young blueberry fed black bear becomes the focus of my sights. The best tasting and textured meat I've eaten. Render the fat slowly on the wood stove, turns whiter that white when you make sure not a bit of meat or a drop of blood in it. Dried fall bull caribou dipped in bear fat is still my all time favorite food. Always had a stash with me when traveling the 40 winter miles to the village. And a thermos of fatty caribou broth. I became a pro at staying alive in very hostile conditions.
Along the river the bears, most brown, are fish eaters and taste that way. Moose fat is very tallowy. Can make candles, but it's a little dense just to snack on. I'll stash some for the dogs for when it really gets cold. Caribou fat is real tasty. Never rendered, always gets eaten as we eat the meat.

I've been out hunting caribou, it's -10 with killer wind chill. Gutting a caribou and I get tired and hungry. Late in the day and my energy is waning in the wind. I'm thirsty too. I drink warm blood and bodily fluids from the carcass. Then I eat some raw liver. Sooo sweet!. sooo good. Powers me up I finish my task and head home.
