Haha did you ever have to go through OC training? Ugh….. was about a thousand times worse…..

Fun fact, gas chamber training even came in handy on one of my deployments….. I was hit with a large cloud of cs, and the training kicked in, and I was able to calmly breathe my way through it and continue what I was doing (nothing good)…..
F No!!!
I really find it kind of strange how training just kicks in sometimes.
My very first time at sea AND first underway replenishment, I had to fight a main space fire. My general quarters position was number one nozzle man for #1Boiler. Guess where the fire was?
In #1Boiler where there was a fuel leak ne leak that sparks off an inproperly lagged main steam line Joint. Firefighting school have been like 2 years ago, but that training sure as hell kicked in!

After they called it, I shook like Michael J Fox on a bad day! That got damn crash after that long of an adrenaline rush is hardcore as fuck!

It's really strange that how you have different adrenaline withdrawal symptoms based on whether it was something positive versus something negative.
Maybe the defining point is just how deeply or strongly your life was in danger at the moment and how long that moment was.
And I just had a relevation, I think I just gained a new appreciation for my former shipmates. I'm talking about the flight deck crews. I've been up on the flight deck during ops as an observer of proper operation of some of my equipment.
That place is absolutely crazy! At the time, all I could think was that I'm glad I'm not up here....... all the time. You got to be on your toes CONSTANTLY ! I bet it's rough the first few times you go through a watch! You got to be running on the adrenaline constantly during flight ops.
Every time I stepped foot on that damn flight Deck my heart was ALWAYS pounding! :funny: :funny: :funny: :eek1::eek1::hump::hump::pass:

I was scraping the resin off my glove towards me and a small chunk in my eye. I wasn't able to find it and it stung. My left eye was fire engine red and watering a bit. :yoinks2:
Funny AI just gave this brain worm red eyes! Guess we know why!:d5::rofl:
