I water the coco twice a day starting 2 days before the sprouts go in the coco. Y'all scared me about not letting the coco dry out.

I used to soak the coco in calmag water (7g per GL) a couple days before planting to buffer and make sure there's no dry spots.

Lately I tried buffering with MC1-part, 2g per GL, instead of buffering with calmag. I keep feeding 2g per GL of MC1, twice a day, until 2 weeks old, then increase to 4g / GL.

Thank you I was the same way and some folks had me thinking I needed to let it dry a little bit.. I might just be under watering thanks again that helps a lot:d5::bow::thanks:

Hey @Mara Cachafa And @JP1 or anyother coco growers for let’s say the first 20 days ish how often are you fertigating your coco? Or when do you start fertigating everyday? I ask you two cause I am pretty sure you both start the seeds in their final homes..

I flush pre planting then nothing till they sprout then once the pot is light/coco is dry in top.. I do it every other day or 2 once I feel the bottom of pot is not damp.. After day 20ish once their big enough filling out the pot it’s everyday.. I think this is where I struggle or hurt my self with coco is when to fertigate early on
I'm in small pots but I'll probably only water mine maybe twice a week for 1st 2 or 3 weeks. They'll get multiple small feedings daily after a month. These are 5 days old have been fed once at day 3 and will get it again at day 9 or 10

"They" say that if coco dries out it becomes hydrophobic, in other words water runs off it like a duck. So if it dries out you could get parts of the pot that stay dry no mater how much you water it. The only way you'd know is after harvest if you take apart the root ball.

I don’t believe for a second that King Neptune harvested all those fruits and vegetables! I mean, I’ve been under the ocean, and didn’t see one apple, pumpkin or banana anywhere!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I didn't know you could go that long between waterings in coco. I guess that the smaller the pot the more often you have to hydrate? I'm in 3 gallons of coco, and the longest I've gone was 24 hours, a couple of times when I never made it home that night (that doesn't happen often at 72 yrs old).
