@WildBill @Olderfart @Cerebral Goo cheers reps,,,my scarred arms testify to his blood lust, and yes he and his sister shred the whole house

Reason I ask is there was a grower on Facebook asking about exceeding electrical draw, and I know how it works in the states, but he's in England, and he's running everything off the same outlet, using extension cords and surge protectors...

right so uk circuits have rated rings ,,so for lights 10 amps ,,plug sockets15 amps ,,things like oven are on there own circuit and breaker 30 plus amps,,,,so on the plug socket breaker it might be 15amps Technically, you can have as many outlets on a 15 amp circuit breaker as you want, like blue said every plug has its own rated fuse, so a good rule of thumb is 1 outlet per 1.5 amps, up to 80% of the capacity of the circuit breaker so maximum of 8 outlets for a 15 amp circuit,, something like that ..allways consult an electrician its your life etc etc

So does that mean the largest amperage on your circuits can be 13 amps? How does that work?

And are you still not supposed to exceed 80% of that total amperage on the circuit?
The breaker or fuse in the main breaker/fuse panel is to protect the house wiring, the fuse in the plug is to protect the appliance - I think. I am not sure about the rules re. 80% load recommendation, but limiting continuous load to that level sounds like a good idea to me. If I haven't got my wires crossed, I think that @Cave Dirt Cody is the professional here, so he might clarify further. :pighug:
