I received my order of Coast Of Maine Lobster compost. Man! That's some VERY pretty compost! Well finished!
I did a simple amending of the media for the grows after the upcoming grow in two 40gal totes. Just for S&Gs. I did each a tin bit different. I amended both the same with 1/3 the recommended rate for Craft Blend, 5 large cups of Dumor chicken layer crumble per tote and sprinkled bokashi on top of that, Compost tea with ingenious fungus, BigFoot soluble mycos and Recharge to bring up the moisture. On one, I mixed up everything before wetting and the other I left it everything on top. Two days later, both had very nice fungal grow visible on top. The mixed tote heated up quite nicely. I dug down deeply for a sample and put it under the scope. LOTS of myycos growth! The other tote did have a much thicker mat, but naturally no heat build up. I mixed it up and checked it this morning and it was working and heated up. Stirred up both again to put more air in the mix. In a month or so, I'll send out a sample for testing. I think it would be worth it for that much media. I might throw in a third 30 gal tote I amended the same way. Just a bit of a pain of moving the totes to where I can la out a tarp, but I have some wheel dollies I made many years ago. Just throw the media on the tarp, spread it out and flip the edges to the center and do that a couple of times.
With the compost coming in, I'm just waiting for Autoseeds.com to arrive..............sitting in Chicago for 5 damn days. I hope they didn't get confiscated! Gonna try and finish setting up the grow room today.
