New Grower Lessons Learned- Night Queen Auto

Two days of training and I’m very impressed with these plants. Amazed at how they want to stand back up and chase the lights!

I see this will be a daily grind for sure! But here’s a quick shot of Brenda my main chick spreading her legs.

New branches and leave growth in that area took off rapidly.

Question for anyone with more lst experience. Will I need to loosen some of the rubber bands as it grows or keep pulling it in this way ?

I did add cross tension on the base of stems for support after first go because I saw how hard plant was pulling back upwards.

I did the solo cup / 3 gal. / 10 gal. thing a few months ago. Started the seeds at the same time I started some Auto's. It Vegged for 10 weeks in the 3 gal. & then flowered for 9 weeks in the 10 gal. That plant took up every inch of a 4' x 4' tent. Was so Bushy it was hell to defoliate & hard to water. At the end it was going through about 2 gallons of water per day. Hope you got the room for it & the time to tend to it. If I ever use a 10 gal. again it will have to be an outside grow. Unless it's your only plant it's too hard to deal with in a tent.

So I picked up two 7 gallon pots and trays instead of the 10 gallon. Tent is 5x5x6.5 so I think I’ll have plenty of room when all the autos are out. As soon as all the autos get chopped I’ll transplant from 3-7 and switch the lights. Probably have a lot of fun training the shit out of them for practice too and topping multiple times

Get your topping in before switching to flower. They say not to do it in flower. I probably topped different areas once a week. The biggest problem is there are just so many leaves to deal with. Seems like they grow back twice as fast as you defol them. Mine was a Fire OG. & the leaves were so thick I was starting to get moisture drops on them (VPD) & had to defol big time. That was some Killer Bud though. I have to get more of those seeds.

It would be cool to grow 1 plant in a 10 gallon pot & SCROG it in that tent. You'd get a great yield.

Will have to see how it goes I guess. I just started 3 more autos in a second row behind the night queens. They fit easily in 3 gallon pots this way but I can see how once everything starts filling out it could get a little tight. Starting to understand why there are zipper openings on all sides of tent! Standing room only haha

Keep in mind your plants will almost double in size when you switch to 12/12 on the Photo's. I'd try to keep them low & bushy till then & then watch them fill out in flower.

Auto Night Queen is a fantastic strain. You won't be disappointed. You might, however run out of room.

Girls are all showing some pistols now. And nutrients are being increased as well they seem to be taking them all up no problem.

Solo picture is of the plant I accidentally topped doing some bending. Might end up nicely as I think I can count at least 6-7 tops now and is my thickest.

Is this the “stretch” phase starting now I believe ?

Did a good bit of defoliation a few days ago. Had been very hesitant to do this as there are mixed opinions on the stress with autoflowers.

But the girls responded well I think and have replaced those leaves then some. Really helped some of the lower bud sites and branches to take off.

Smell is increasing and pistols. The “stretch” is definitely happening.

Spaced lights out about a foot to even coverage of all plants. Interested to hear others opinion on how to manage different sized plants and maximize light use in a tent? I move them almost daily and have been trying to find the best placement of pots.
