Security reasons might make that an issue!

I'm back to indoor growing after a lengthy hiatus (aside from growing a midgrade bagseed plant under a 24W CFL in the early 2000s, I haven't grown indoors since '99). Things sure have changed! These LED lights look very promising. I've been reading obsessively and it seems 660nm supplementation will help any grower regardless of what lights they're using. I'm going to be flowering my autos under around 220W of CFL and some E27 LED bulbs that were made for the Chinese market. Fortunately a friend has been helping me get e27 base LED bulbs that aren't really available outside China.

I've had the following made up for me: two 9 watters with three 3W emitters (blue, 630 and 650) and a 12 x 2W bulb (8 x 630 and 4 x 660). I realized what I really need is 660nm since the CFLs cover the other spectrums pretty well, so I just bought a bulb with 6 x 1W Epistar 660nm LEDs. I think that should do for now! I'm going to put the two 9 watters on one plant, the 24 watter on one and the 6 watter on the third. Each plant should get around 4 23W CFLs on it too. Since they're not F1s or clones, it's not an entirely fair test, but I think it will confirm what my research indicates.

those led bulbs sound sweet, sound good as supplemental lighting.... WIll be watching your grow :) let me know when you start a journal or if you have one going.. what strain you going to run?

Thanks! If I'd realized how cheap LED grow lights are in China nowadays, I wouldn't have bought as many CFLs! Those 9W bulbs cost me only a few dollars more than the 23W CFLs do locally.

I have a grow in the Flash Seeds forum. No pics yet (I've been more active on another board that begins with IC, and there are pics there); my plants are two weeks old and I'm working with Jet-47.

I had some fungus gnat issues and pH issues, both of which required me to flood my pots, first with H2O2 and then pH adjusted water with ferts, and they've been too wet from the start. The potting soil I usually use (and have been using on and off since '95) is now fungus gnat city, and the cheap clay pebbles I added to the soil threw my pH off like crazy. They're only just getting started on their third real leaf sets, but they should pick up over the next few weeks and the LEDs should help them get going. :)

I'd like to know when you start your grow too, so I can grab a chair. If only I could fast forward to see how they do because I'm about to pull the trigger on a 9 spectrum 80x5w just to see how it works(or doesn't) and using standard socket leds like cfls sounds like a treat especially if it chops the prices.:group:

How much money ,spectral chart?
Warrenty?

I thought fanless used ceramic heat sinks, space shuttle tech it ownes!

Ps
My 400w induction flouro is silent 100%

They said "we can't send you spectrum chart because it would reveal their secrets...." Sounds like bullshi to me. Why not everyone else does?!? Price is as low as 170 shipped they go for 200ish a lot of the time. 3 year warranty....

Still tempting lol....

Got my 12 x 2W (8:4 660:630) bulb today. Holy smokes, this thing is big and heavy, and the light has a nice reddish cast. I might have to pick another one up in pure 660nm!

one thing I did l learn ....space two lights, the bleed over creates the '3rd light' effect ...increasing the grow footprint...(see pic.) 90deg lens render and 120deg lens version...maybe customize it 90deg lens on the outer /120deg lens on the inner?

maybe put 90deg lens on the outer and 120deg on the inner like so?

Your footprint will look bigger, but it will be weak in the middle from those 120 lenses as they lack penetration mate..90s are defiantly a better choice.:smokebuds: some companies will also use different lenses for specific colours.
