i just grabbed a random bag....This is without doing a slurry which really should be done for true accurate readings.. its showing 7.0 but generally when i stick the meter directly in its off by .1-.2 Vs slurry... so that would make sense.. regardless its to show the PH isn't that low

KS, how about this Bluelab meter, have you seen/used this one before? A bit more affordable than the unit you showed, plus it has a nice pointy tip/protector,... my only concern is lack of depth, which is important sometimes,... ( -that's what she said,..--bu-dup -tshhh!)
.... ahhh, goes to show just how important, and different, methodology can be at times!

... I can see why the slurry test is best,... it's making a nice tea of it, plus better contact vs just particles,...

I have to say it is impressive how KS knows his stuff and can stand his own in talking about it.. Shows how much he cares about his product.. I am a customer for life..

Ripp'- ayuh! I can't wait for the photo' girls to hit it, and start blowing up! :growing: time's short this season, so they need to hustle! With any luck, we'll have a nice (usual) Indian Summer during Fall,... and no damn rain/muggy weather like last year! Fekkin' El Nino effect had the nearby ocean water temps near 15degrees warmer than usual, which made for very atypical weather here,... it's gone now, thankfully!

yep that's one I would DEFINITELY recommend over the one your using. that ones basically to an extent the same as mine.. mine jus thats a replaceable wand.. if it goes bad I can get a new one for like 80$ .. the one below you posted doesn't have that option. but heres a grower here that uses that exact same meter.. behind him are his kind soil grown plants

yep

the other thing with mine is you can easily read slurries.. i don't know if that one can do that or not.. i assume it could because i know for sure it calibrates with liquids so it should be able to..

@Waira check around generally that pen is 138$ and theres places that sell my meter for like 170$ its a very minimal price difference for the benefit of being able to replace the meters wand if you needed to due to it going bad, drying out or something like that which does happen. that way you don't need to buy another 138$ meter you can buy a 80$ wand replacement. plus the cord allow you to set the meter down easily and stick the wand into the media, its easier if your doing a slurry you don't have to hold the big meter, you can just simply stick the wand in a cup.
