I think that's my problem with the crystals. I'm not used to them. You can't go by the number of crystals they're not all the same size. My water starts at 7.7 - 7.8 I pour some crystals in a bowl then I take a small pinch and add to a gallon jug. I turn the jug upside down and watch the crystals float to the bottom, the upright the jug and watch I continue flipping the jug until I don't see crystals floating. I check pH and continue till I have my desired pH.
yeah definitely i can understand that. I just typed a big thing and deleted it!! AGHH but let me simplify what i typed cause i don't wanna type it all again. when your adjusting you don't need to be 100% exact you don't need to be AT 6.5 all that matters is your in the range. 6.3-6.8 all your doing is getting the water into the acidic range so the soil isn't trying to buffer a base water. our media, the base media are all ph adjusted to be in your plants uptake ranges, as long as your not using water thats naturally high in PH and is in the acidic range (NOT TOO ACIDIC obviously) thats all that your going to need to worry about. So like you said yes your absolutely right they aren't the same size and thats generally the pain with them is finding the right "amount" to use each time but as long as your in the range theres no need to try and adjust to a SPECIFIC 6.5 or something like that.

yeah id definitely like to know what the issues were.
Yep, its why we test and talk about it. If folks are having problem, it could be a few minor adjustments to get things dialed in. Just to let you know, @Kindsoil, I will be starting my own personal run with your soil today and will be using everything you suggest on the instructions, along with the Earthjuice crystals, minus the Root trapper pots. I'll be using 2-2gal smartpots on this grow. Couldn't get them here in my area and shipping to me was twice the cost of the pots!

@Kindsoil So with Coco loco 6.5 is acceptable ?

i know i know . AGH so the cost sucks but i can promise they are worth the extra. smart pots will not only leak out of the sides sometimes they really leech humidity compared to trappers. the trappers aid in stopping the water from leaking out and it aids in keeping moister in so the humidity isn't spiked overtime you water. the down side like you said is the cost and very few places have them. i have been speaking with them recently to try and get them in bulk for our site so growers have a place to obtain them without getting jacked on the price. hopefully we get something arranged with hem.

thats all i have ran for the last 1.5 years.. my tap is 7.5-7.3 depending on the time of the year.. so i adjust I'm generally in the 6.5-6.8 range i only use pre-post-carbon filtered tap water. but i used to do all the other stuff everyone heres is doing.. running non PH adjusted water... using phosphoric acids.. overwatering etc.. I would never recommend anything that didn't work for or with our system. so when i get on and see the issues people are having, I've been there i can tell people what they are doing with our system just by pics 99% of the time because I've seen it all.

@Kind Soil, now I got to question, why " no liquid" ph source be used? That makes no sense whatever. Maybe you failed to be specific in this. So why not lemon juice, or vinegar, etc for organic ph adjustment? and some people HAVE to use RO water. If its been properly treated with calmag ( at a reduced ppm, I'm using 60 ppm for the kind soil ) and properly ph'd I see no logical reason for it to be a problem, unless your mix is lacking in certain trace minerals/elements. Tell you what, I'll send you a couple gallons of my tap water, you'll be horrified at what it does to your plants!

without a better explanation, it sounds like a sales pitch ( not saying it is, just how it sounds ). So Why would these crystals be better? its all the same after it dissolves..
