What do you suggest I pH my water at? Top media is Coco loco. I'm not saying it has a deficiency it's getting old it should lose a couple bottom leaves. I'm new to using hot soil and to using Coco loco. I'm willing to listen. I'm using earth juice crystals my tap is well water that comes out at about 7.7-7.8 right now.
yeah 7.7 is way too high your media just won't buffer it properly i know you hate to hear it but citric acid crystals from earth juice are the only things we recommend. as i have said many times i can assure you that if you take the time to ph adjust the water to 6.5 -6.8 (it doesnt need to be exact just in that range NO HIGHER) your grow will completely change. all that you as a grower need to do with our soil is set it up properly and properly adjust your water PH if needed. which in your case you need to. Thats it, but again don't sit here and short change your grow. theres no reason to were talking about a simple PH adjustment thats all you need to do, just adjust water ph with citric acid crystals from earth juice and water your plant.

and coco loco is totally fine promix is fine too but i prefer loco it is setup differently feed wise, dries a bit better & aids in getting more oxygen pockets.. but both are fine i have been running loco for about 1.5 years now and i never have issues with my grows. But i also ran promix prior to that for about 3 years with the system and never had issues either so i can't say anything really bad about either except promix tends to pack down a bit more and tends to stay moister longer.

Ok, now this is where I get confused. Doesn't Coco need a lower pH? Than 6.5. I been running 6.2-6.3 because of the Coco. The two males don't seem to mind 6.2- 6.3

I know a few of you have stated that you dont like the Earthjuice Down Crystals, but you have not really stated WHY. Lets talk about what it is you dont like about it? Does it eventually climb back up on ya? What are the issues you all are having? @Son of Hobbes, didnt you have issues with it? Is it simply a product you arent used to?

ME? i have never stated that i state everywhere to only use earth juice using anything else will cause issues.. you cannot use phosphoric acids with our system (any liquid acids)

sorry i just read that wrong... you said a few of you.. i assume the reason people hate it is because of two things one they are crystals and not liquid so lets say your only using a gallon of water.. a gallon of water will only require like 6-10 crystals if that to adjust its not something you can grab a 1/4 teaspoon on and dump in.. you need like 1/16 of a teaspoon per gallon, and if you over do it by using say 1/8tsp it really drops the ph.

It is an Ice Cool, just never changed the label after the first 2 failed. And I see the big one is a pretty freaky mutant also, I'll get pics shortly!
 :smokeout: What's up test homies!

... First, I must say that I may have not thought my participation through, considering the established protocol for the testing with no nothin' to be added, even if needed,... my bad! Problem is, as mentioned this grow is not for me alone, but others as well, for which I have been "hired"... results need to be great, and I cannot allow a plant to falter or fail when simple feeding/supp's will see it better to harvest,... the crappy start has already cost time I did not have to spare as is, and very likely, yield as well,... So, I may have to DQ myself from the test... I'll still run the soil, and still angle for no inputs, and document fully the whole grow, but if a plant needs help, she going to get it! I'll see what KS thinks, and any plant that does go with no significant nutritional inputs can still be considered for the test results, but plants that get help, obviously not,... not sure if I'll jump threads to the Commune with the other unofficial testers, or stay here and report only those that maintain the protocol,...some discussion needed there!
...But, that said, the new girls are cranking right along! :coffee::woohoo1::coffee: ...on day 9 now; added in due to uncertain seed arrival of more Acapulco Gold, is Kalishnapple x Sweet Tooth... turns out the seeds did get here finally, and I've fired off two others, their fate to be determined, but at least one will still be in the test,... the transplanted AG, FairyBreath, and Flavor Grape are doing well now, the rest were shitcanned,... a possible idea: dual-plant FB's in a 10gal,...:eyebrows: .... they're growing fast, so this week it's order time, and will get transplanted ASAP,...(these are 32oz cups)

>>> pop22- :d5: looking great bro'! Ice Cool, mmmmm,...... Oh, the mutie is now part of the Anomoly thread- Is this an IC, or a B-kush as the label says? (https://www.autoflower.org/threads/anomolies-we-have-seen-on-afn.50661/ )

>> Bromeo-- I know it's killin ya my friend! (you too brother EoF) :pighug:-- To not juice her up is soooo unnatural, right?! (I think this is a form of P defc., not at all typical, but I see similar symptom manifestations in Sick Bay, and treatment with P seems to help; are you guys seeing some N defc. as well, beyond the expected general amount for this stage?)... Still, there's stores in those fans, and she may finish face-first butt-ugly, but I'm confident there will be great bud by the end, just not as much as, potentially,... She is a big'un, and I think the plant size/pot size thing has caught up with her and the available nutrients,... And no matter what, this is an excellent case in point test subject for KS application to autos, pot size and amount of KS added,... we all know how rather variable auto's are in their nute' demands, so all this is totally uncharted territory, the first early pieces to the puzzle! Same for EoF's MA,... and just like his SNOG, your FEx is still running fine- :greenthumb:Hard to make any conclusions about strains, Indi-Sati' nutritional tendencies, etc. yet,... ***.... :spels: :hump: --and Man, that FEx!! How phat is she dude?! :clapper:  ...She makes me pine for my little coco-cup girl from last year...Oh the aroma and flavor! Your Jools the Sati'-Queen is going to hog the jar big time, trust me, you better hide a little stash of her, lest you have barely a taste before it's gone! :crying:

*** Molasses-- read the labels guys, some are definitely richer in nute's than others...locally, I found Brer Rabbit to be the best, more Ca, Mg and K (?),... Fe is the same,.. for cooking, I like Grandma's milder taste better, but is less rich than Brer,...

>> KS-- my sister cans lots of things, and I found pure citric acid in her cupboard, in a nice fine crystal size,... I assume this will be just as good, just faster dissolving,... I saw nothing on the EJ label that indicates anything special about their formulation,...?

>>> Hobbstahhh! ...'bout time man-... I like that Left-Over girl, another good test subject to consider, given her KS amount,... :goodluck: :headbang: :greenthumb:fingers crossed on the Autopots my friend! That, I'm very interested in seeing result of,...

>> :smoking: EoF, that SNOG is looking giggady giggady-goo!!

:haha::haha::haha: ..resins and bud density is superb my friend- :d5: -seriously, that is advertisement-grade material right there!.... what's her perfume like? .... MA has a lot of Sativa in her, right? She's making lots of very lovely bud too, pale leaves aside! :woohoo1:

>> Pops! :greenthumb: man, those girls are loving the soil proper now, ay? :dancer::clapper::dancer::clapper::dancer:... 3 beauties for your dancing pleasure! ..love the chunky 3 Bears, but the Crink's is still my fav'... has Mitch had a peek at her yet? I'm curious if this leaf pheno' is typical, or not,...

>>> Anthro buddy, I'm pullin' for ya mate! :goodluck: Those temps are a challenge for a grown plant, much less seedlings,.. ...and still they look good, even after the daily roasting! What's the RH been like over 24h period?

>> Step'-- daaaamn! :pimp: G-13 blow-up!! If this is how photo's are going to react to KS, I'm more stoked by the minute,...:wiz: ..still looking for some local G-13 too, and there's nuth, dammit!
... :jawdrop: double dAAAmn!! are these FD's WJEMS? Those are the best males I've seen in a while! Has FD seen them? You might have some "stud" services coming my friend!:d5: there's enough grain-love there to knock up half the West Coast... :hump: :hothot: :hump:

>>> Sniper I'm still gutted about that whole rotten shitty mess out your way,..:bighug: ...plants may seem like small potatoes in comparison, but I know how important your meds are to your health! -- and that magic horse poop compost too- fek fek fek fek.... that they're still salvageable is amazing,.. guess we'll see how good the sugar leaves are at a more supportive role! there's still some time too, so I'm sending major reboot bloom karma your way my friend! :goodluck::karmacloud::goodluck:

I think that's my problem with the crystals. I'm not used to them. You can't go by the number of crystals they're not all the same size. My water starts at 7.7 - 7.8 I pour some crystals in a bowl then I take a small pinch and add to a gallon jug. I turn the jug upside down and watch the crystals float to the bottom, the upright the jug and watch I continue flipping the jug until I don't see crystals floating. I check pH and continue till I have my desired pH.
