@Kind Soil, now I got to question, why " no liquid" ph source be used? That makes no sense whatever. Maybe you failed to be specific in this. So why not lemon juice, or vinegar, etc for organic ph adjustment? and some people HAVE to use RO water. If its been properly treated with calmag ( at a reduced ppm, I'm using 60 ppm for the kind soil ) and properly ph'd I see no logical reason for it to be a problem, unless your mix is lacking in certain trace minerals/elements. Tell you what, I'll send you a couple gallons of my tap water, you'll be horrified at what it does to your plants!

without a better explanation, it sounds like a sales pitch ( not saying it is, just how it sounds ). So Why would these crystals be better? its all the same after it dissolves..
give me 30 mins i have a delivery i have to make once I'm done i will respond.

only when being run as hydro, it has nothing to do with the coco itself. This is a soil grow, even when the main medium is is coco, or when I blend coco into my soil.
Ok, now this is where I get confused. Doesn't Coco need a lower pH? Than 6.5. I been running 6.2-6.3 because of the Coco. The two males don't seem to mind 6.2- 6.3

I been trying for 6.0 - 6-.3 this probly why my plants look like shit. Although it's still kind of baffling, I just finished a Dinafem Haze cbd in Coco loco and I ran that at 6.2 and it was a beast and I have 3 Jems doing good running at 6.2

I'm running 2 pots of soil and 2 of pure coco in auto pots right now, just started. I'm expecting PH to be an issue, we'll see. I ph'd to 6.3 for the solution i'm using on them now.

Just one observation, it's not clear to me when everyone is saying coco if they are talking about using Coco Loco soil or coco coir fiber. I get the impression some are talking about one and other the other. Maybe it's just me confused, but when hydro and coco get talked about together, I start thinking coco coir as a hydro medium.

Also, I think that along the lines of pop22's question, it would be nice if there was at least ONE other option for controlling PH in the water. I have no problem with EJ crystals, and in fact was using them even before I started looking at Kindsoil, but when that's the one and only option that can supposedly be used in a whole wide chemical world of possibilities, it starts felling a little like "do you guys own stock in EJ or something?"... I dunno... :smoking:

...KS mentioned before the addition of phosphoric acid causes chemical reactions that are undesirable, knocking the balance of the nute cycling (?), and it tends to be hard on the soil herd,... every acid will have a net effect that's similar for pH'ing, but each is chemically different (strength, reaction time, break down product), and it's as much about what the rest of the soil components, living included, does with the acid after it's been neutralized and changed into something else, as it is what the acid does to the soil, etc.,... always remember, biologically speaking, each form of acid is profoundly different from another, and therefore, how it interacts and reacts to and with the rest of the system.... I find vinegar (acetic acid) doesn't seem to have much lasting ooomph, if you will,... citrus/lemon has a couple different acids in it, mostly citric, which is Vit. C, right? --this has other metabolic actions on the plant, as a powerful antioxidant, and too much isn't good for the plant I believe... maybe KS knows specifically why it's not a good alternative,...

:pass: thanks @pop22!

>>> :smoking: KS my friend, it was a weird thing with this soil,... you saw the sickly little things? Sanctuary Soils are very good, and that's what they were in,... a bag left over from last season, unopened and gently stored in a garage, no outside element abuse or pests,... seedlings were pale and sluggish from the start, even the cotl's went pale very fast,... 2 weeks pissed away thinking they'd turn the corner, but never did- :cuss: --should have known and acted sooner! I made up a new soil seedling blend with a different brand, seedling mix and Tupur (coco mix), and they're zipping right along-- too fast, as they are in 32oz cups, not 1gal, and need to go into final pots soon! I plan to order up tomorrow, from the clients place, where delivery will be best arranged... I'm thinking the 10gal pots are out now, all 7's this time,... too late for extra veg time, and the coastal climate is on the cool side,...
