Thanks! I just wondered what "fresh" seeds looked like!
Once they are matured enough(on the plant) they look just like fully cured seeds. Yep.. apparently the germination rates of seeds go from the 60s to 95% after 3 weeks of curing after drying.
Jack Day 104: Today I found fur on one of the terminal buds. Since I hadn't allotted any furs for my plants recently it had to be the living kind, eating my plant before my eyes. The cause was quickly discovered; When I defoliated fan leaves to get the light further down to the lower buds I left a little inch or so on the plant. Some of these stumps had offered an easy point of attack for the spores. Cut branches did not suffer the same fate.
This is going to be a point of interest for me in the future: How to best defoliate to not get mould (My hypothesis right now is to cut/break it as close to the stem as possible so it dessicates quickly. I shall test it on the Somangos over the next 2 months.
I took some drastic measures after checking the trichs. They are decently cloudy with clears here and there and also some ambers unfortunately. I'm not a fan of the couch lock effect so I can live with what I've done:
Yes that is what's left of Jack. As you might now I've been smoking branches of it left and right but now I started the harvest. Except for 3 branches in the middle I cut all off at half height. The center 3 will have to remain standing to let the seeds ripen. I didn't mark the branch I pollinated with Baby's pollen.. but it's gotta be one of these three.
The reason I cut them at half height is so I can bathe the lower half of the plant in a high amount of photons for a week so they can bulk up too and then get snipped.
That's what I took off of Jack today plus about 2 hands full of sugary trim and a tiny forests worth of fan leaves
With that let me start at 0 again:
