New Grower It's about time..Dutch Passion and ChilLED grow light

UpDate 8-14-2017

The other Dutch Passion Blackberry Kush did not make it. I planted it wrong as the root did a 360 degree circle. In it's place I planted a Dutch Passion Ultimate. I know this can be a monster, I can only hope :tonic:. This DPU had developed a 1 inch root in two days. So we shall see.

@Mañ'O'Green has said to lower the lights. I appreciate everyones input. I will be leaving for a few days this week so I am cautious about any change. I will drop it to 42" and turn up the ChilLED 400w to 100% power. It is still in Veg mood. Thanks for your thoughts Man'O'Green.

:salute:
I think you will get too much stretch on your seedlings at that height - just sayin'

Hey Nosias, congrats on your five babies! :woohoo1::woohoo1::woohoo1::woohoo1::woohoo1:

Bit of a different animal, but for what it's worth, I had the my autocobs at 30" for the first two weeks and the plants seemed to grow well with no stretching. The plants have now grown to within 24" of the cobs and I'm maintaining that distance.

I'm new here and to everything as well,, i would like to ride with u guys and learn something , if it's cool with u guys
:welcome: @Little11 . Hell I am so new at this I am greener than my little plants :greencheck:. Just understand it will take time and energy on your part to read and slowly begin to understand. This stuff is simple, we just make it hard. You are most welcome to watch and absorb all you want to. Ask as many questions as you need. ALL here at this sight are willing to help, like I said just ask. If you are willing so are all here.

Are you thinking of growing or have you begun?

Yes I do understand and thank you. It is such a new light I maybe over worried to do it wrong. I will see if the stretch too much.

Today is day 5

Duly noted @SPZ. The cobs you have are really strong so my ladies should be able to take Scottie (my new name for the ChilLED 400w). My thought is that the "babies" grow wonderful under CFL lights and may not need as much energy as Scottie can provide.

In a sad note my last remaining Dutch Passion Blackberry Kush (BBK) was bent over at a 90 degree angle. The stem seemed to have been bent. The flower is still green but the stem looks like it was snapped in a wind storm. really weird.:redcross::redcross::redcross::redcross: I took some coco and built a small mound around the stem. I will see if it continues to stay alive. After all they are just weeds.:astar:

Not too much to report. I will water all with Hansbricks feed schedule tomorrow. All except the new Dutch Passion Ultimate that is. As of today it still has not broken through.

UPDATE: The ChilLED 400w aka Scottie has been lowered to 30 " for the 3.9 pots and 34" for the 2.2. pots.
this is 37376 signing off.............:yay:

if your worried about stretch in any way mate then put a little stick in the pot and very gently and very loosely, tie them to it. otherwise, if they do stretch too quickly theyll collapse on you. im trying to teach 2 guys to grow just now and so far theyve ruined 8 plants between them by not doing that lol. id say with the way your doing it, providing you get it at least half right youll hit your 7oz pp no problem. get it a lot right though and your tents gonna burst. my current a/u is only 13" tall but nearly a square metre round. ill be gutted if its lets than a pound. im in hydro but theres not much difference yield wise against coco when its done right.

ChilLed recommends 24" or more if you have the space. What that means to me is get close 24" turn power down to say 50% watch close and turn power up if they start to stretch. You don't need to tie them up even if the fall over they will eventually pull themselves up as long as they are given enough light. Look at the beginning of my current grow. I tried to use a t5 to start my seedlings and it was not strong enough so I turned on my cobs which eventually fixed the problem. The Incredible Bulk was the fastest seedlings I have ever started growing over an inch in 1 day!

Right now I am not seeing much grow. period. So down the light it will be.

When I a re search at the ChilLED site here is what I of found; WITH the help of Man O'Green

What Hanging Height Should I Use?
For small areas: 18-24in
For large areas: 24in or higher if ceiling height allows it

:smiley1:
