Is it mold?

I suspected she might mold because her branches were practically stuck together throughout most of the grow. I don’t know f this is mold for sure, but it looks like it. I don’t know if it’s happened on the plant itself or after partial harvest drying. Worst part is, I’ve kept half of the plant going too. Sucks

Looks like it to me. I've just been gifted a whole jar of freshly grown weed ... with that on the buds.

...Composted! not worth the risk.

Not sure if the plant itself is moulded. No obvious signs on the plant but mould was visible today after being nearly dry. Not sure if I should just bin the plant in case. WHats your thoughts? I trimmed some of those leaves down and they’ve basically died off. Not sure if I should cut the rest of her and dry them

If you have a scope, take a close look ... they won't look like trichs if it's mold .. it will look like jaggedy spider webs.
(i'm pretty certain from the first photos its mold)
There may also be an unfamiliar smell .. that will also be the mold.

I guess in my case ... buddy didn't dry the weed properly and it molded in the jars - didn't burp them porperly or check them properly either. (so sad... such as waste)

I wouldnt recommend smoking it, you'll do your lungs in.

You "could" turn it to ISO hash (in a well ventilated area and no fire or sparks) .. but my past experience with this has been rubbish - low yeild, pain in the arse .. meh! - Depends if you have a stash or not to how much effort you wanna go to.

The type of mold you have, the fluffy whiteish gray stuff is a type of mold called botrytis. It’s mostly harmless to humans, but you still don’t want to smoke it. You probably don’t need to bin all of it, but definitely discard any flowers that have been effected. One major downside is it often starts from the stem, so you have to dissect each flower to find out if it has it. Smell can also be an indicator, look for the faint smell of ammonia and that will help find the moldy buds.

What is the humidity is your room/tent? When I have a dense plant like that I always try to keep it low, between 30-40% rh to avoid these type of issues.

My last ditch effort on a molded plant just before harvest is General Hydro's Exile. It will kill it. I completely drench the plant with it. Wait a week and treat it again. Then I wait at least 3 days, then rinse a day or two before harvest.

Man this is my first time growing Mephisto genetics and it will probably be my last. Fastbuds strains I grow tend to be a lot bigger and less problematic. The mould will Be down to me either because I couldn’t physically stretch the branches out because they became really really stiff very quickly with super tight internodes, or it’s the brown bag drying that’s moulded them over. I can’t be sure, and right now I’m unsure If I should keep this plant going then chop and dry in a different method. It has been leaking oils from the buds for a couple weeks

The smell has died down from yesterday but people talk about mold having a piss like smell to it. Any time I’ve had buds mould over I’ve never smelt that. It just seems to kill off most of the weed smell. It smells like something I cant put my fingers on but never like Piss or anything. I’ll check it under a loupe. This grow has been a nightmare. My humidity ranges from 50-65 tops. I can’t properly check the main cola stem on the plant for mould as it’s so short and dense in there

Nah .. I wouldn't have thought so - I've never seen that.

What i will say is, the times I've had mold (actually in the tent ... not the jars), is when the buds have been large and dense, too much foliage in there (me trying to cram in too many plants) and high RH. .. not enough air movement!!

Mephisto do grow large. I had to bin off a large mephisto once... my fault - should have defoliated. And 3 jars of photoperiod Strawberry Banana that i negelcted ... turned to ISO .. it was crap. lol

Yeah i don't get the "piss" smell .. i get more of a "spice funk" .. but i've smelt it before and worry when i smell it!
