Is it mold?

What dispersed was not diatomaceous earth it was mold spores, a gazillion of them. You should harvest anything you can in the tent dispose of all infected bud, and wash the rest of it ASAP use a three step wash; H2o², Lemon Juice/baking soda and a good rinse. Dry as usual. You will need to sanitize your grow space before your next grow with bleach, get new pots and soil.

If you catch bud rot early enough you can turn off all fans, put a plastic bag over the infected bud and cut it off 1 inch below the infection. Sterilize your tools between each cut. Get the humidity down in the room to 35%. Then watch that plant every day.

:goodluck:

I have two plants in flower in the tent. I had harvested the moulded plant. I gave it a blast with the shower head as silly as it sounds and got it drying aside elsewhere. Will most likely bin it though. Man my chest has been crazy tonight with short breaths and so on. Making me concerned now with the mold spore thing you spoke of

The thing is mold spores are always in the air so no matter how good you clean you need to keep humidity down during flower sand airflow up. also grows fewer plants per tent. The denser the bud more problems. That is why I prefer Anvil over 24 carat or strawberry nuggets. But that is because I have had mold a few times in these strains due to their dense bodacious buds. Anvil has much less dense bud so it does not get mold as easy. It is something to keep a close eye on and if you have more problems get strains that have less chance of getting mold. If you get mold there is nothing that is going to get down in those dense buds and get rid of it, it is just junk at that point.

Spraying it with a shower head was literally the worst thing you could have done. Now the flowers are wetter and more likely to grow more mold.

Like olbobcat said mold spores are everywhere and you can’t clean them away. The best and only real defense is to create conditions that will prevent mold growth, a clean environment with good airflow and appropriate humidity levels.

I would not wash the buds, just remove anything with a trace of mold and dry the rest a little quicker than you usually would to keep more mold from growing. I have done this with outdoor plants during humid seasons multiple times. It’s not ideal but you can salvage some smoke. I am sure others here will disagree with me, but botrytis is not really harmful to humans. I would not smoke any flowers anywhere near mold, but when this has happened to me in the past it was highly localized and I was easily able to identify the affected flowers and remove them. Dry the rest quickly and be very careful in jars until the flowers are well dried and have stable curing humidity and I bet you can save some or even most of the flowers.

Sorry to hear about that. It really sucks. All you can do is shake it off, learn from it and move on. Get back in the saddle. But I know the heartache. I learned to grow outside. Nothing like the kick in the balls of finding your 10 foot tall photo buds are loaded with mold and caterpillars. I learned real quick after that. And growing inside when I finally started doing that was a damn luxury.

Your temps and RH looked ok, but I guess airflow issues? I always put those air circulator fans on my tent floor blowing up into the canopies during flower. And a couple overhead. Regularly wipe down the tent walls and floors. I regularly use a bleach and water cleaning solution.

You named your post "is this mold?"
if you already knew what it was why are you asking?
oh never mind...

Yes to help confirm it because the bud I showed was the only bud that shown symptoms, and even then under a loupe it didn’t completely look like mould. I confirmed it when I broke the hugely dense main cola off the plant. The buds are going in the bin. Wish I binned the bitch months ago. Yes, definitely an air flow problem because no air was getting into those colas properly with internoding this short. Lol she’s the worst plant structure I’ve ever grown. Buds upon buds just stacked on top and inside of each other. Don’t think any air flow could fix that. That was her mostly chopped down

@Mañ'O'Green what do you think buddy? I’ve got a purple nuggets that was dense as hell all of her flowering time and no matter what’s ive tried I’ve never been able to complete the open her up. She’s been flowering 60 days but I know she could do longer. But I’m worried about her mouldin over already too because she’s so dense inside.

Is this a sign of bud rot or just lack of light?

Fabric pot is dirty as hell. I could never properly get those salts out. Straight coco. Just wondering if that’s a severe case of salt build up or mould now.

At this stage I’m concerned and over thinking so really thinking of pulling the best buds on her. I noticed quite a few pistols falling off too, maybe from bud rot.

I don’t see any too obvious signs when I was cutting some buds off. Non on the stems or bud leaves. I guess I’ll find out when i dry them

Not every strain has the same susceptibility to Bud Rot so it may never get it. When you described what had to be a cloud of mold spores released in the tent. That is extreme exposure and I personally would not take a chance with anything close to harvest. I would harvest it and wash it as explained above.

Wash anything that comes out of that tent. You will never get rid of all of the mold. It is around us always. The idea is to get the population as low as possible.

Get new pots and soil.
