Is it mold?

Yeah i don't get the "piss" smell .. i get more of a "spice funk" .. but i've smelt it before and worry when i smell it!

So far I’ve checked it under the scope and it just looks like a heavy cluster of trichomes, no webbing. But I think I had a seed pocket in there that I had trimmed on the plant By accident. So it was dying off inside the bud. I’ve checked the stems and judging by people’s opinons here and on the internet the stem tends to get mouldy first. I don’t see any web like stuff on the stems, just trichomes. This plant was a shit show from the start though And lack of patience has been getting the better of me because they’re all due finished. She’s been flowering for 70 days and most of her isn’t finished because the inner buds lacked light. I dunno if the buds oozing out sap/oil is related to mould. But so far it looks ok. I’ll keep watering the res of her and dry her soon enough once harvested and I’ll inspect again. If there’s mould then i know the plant got it and not during drying phase. Trichomes like this can easily Be mistaken for mould for sure. However, I think one of the semi dry buds did gather a bit of mould from either a dead of a leave, or some sort of seed. I’ll keep an eye on them once dry. Under close inspection I don’t see any mould. What u think?

It's not close enough for me to say 100% ... certainly looks like mold from the zoomed out image.
The only thing i've ever seen white and in that density is LED light bleaching on high bud tops. I don't think i've ever had patches of thick white trichs.

For sure. Most of these buds are bleach like because they weren’t getting enough light. I suppose all I can do right now is essentially await the plant to finish up a bit better, dry, and see if those have obvious signs of mould. It’s a real pain in the ass trying to get a good quality picture with an iPhone 6 and a 30x scope. I’ll see if I can get any better ones. But once I finally chop the rest of the plant, I will dry and bag it separately. Definitely looks like mould off the bat though. I’ve trimmed the weirder mould like part off. Once they’re finished drying I suppose I can snap the buds and check. Worst part is, I was gonna bin this plant last month. Making me wish I did already lol

My mold learning experience, strangely I forgot to add a boveda to this jar and it molded, plus forgot to burp it for a few weeks rookie mistake. It was a Fast buds California snow it was a less than stellar strain of weed anyway

I vote what we’re seeing on your buds is mold.

I noticed the moulded looking parts were seed pockets and I’ve actually found a seed. Pretty good looking bean. I’ve heard a lot of rumours about Mephisto stuff hermie’n. Down to growers or not, not sure. But my 3Wok hermied too and I’m not sure if she’s cross pollinated jammy Dodgers, or both have hermied on their own. Bad experience with these genetics. Just hope all my other plants aren’t pollinated. Lool. IF it’s cross pollinated then we’re looking at 3wok x Jammy Dodgers. I might grow to the bean in future but chances are they’ll hermie too

TO mention a lot of diatomaceous earth burst out as I snipped the nodes off tbe maincola. How diatomaceous earth got trapped in there I’ll never know. Any way to remove this mould and make it smokable again? Some of the stickiest and smelliest weed iv ever grown too, such a shame. WOndering if baking soda and lemon juice will kill it off with a wash

Its bud rot. Nothing to do with mephisto genetics. Any buds not directly affected should be ok. Powdery mildew is a different story, but thats not the case here. Id just bin it and start again and give your plants more room and air circulation.

You misunderstood my response. Im aware what of bud rot is and how it occurs. I previously said that I was expecting it to happen, due to how the planet structure grew. I was referring to seeing a ton of complaints about Mephisto genetics having tendencies to hermie, especially their 3Wok which is what’s hermied on me too. I also said weither it’s down to growers error and having a lot of hermies, or down to genetics I have no idea, as this is my first Mephisto run

Hahaha mold. Yeah it looks like it to me. Smoked it , back in the day we didn't care about moldy weed. If you could find weed you'd smoke it. Seriously don't smoke it if you don't have to. Been smoking since 1975. It'll be alright. Throw that shit away if ya can.

What dispersed was not diatomaceous earth it was mold spores, a gazillion of them. You should harvest anything you can in the tent dispose of all infected bud, and wash the rest of it ASAP use a three step wash; H2o², Lemon Juice/baking soda and a good rinse. Dry as usual. You will need to sanitize your grow space before your next grow with bleach, get new pots and soil.

If you catch bud rot early enough you can turn off all fans, put a plastic bag over the infected bud and cut it off 1 inch below the infection. Sterilize your tools between each cut. Get the humidity down in the room to 35%. Then watch that plant every day.
