The app process can get a little hairy.. Which it should, lol. Testing is a serious job that is also a necessity. I test for two major breeders and a handful of others, and had to jump through all kinds of hoops and prove myself and earn trust before I got to test unreleased strains. I didn't mind, because I look at testing gear as a way I can give back to the canna community. The major issue is breeders having their genetics stolen or used by testers. A good percentage of interested testers either just want free seeds, or want to get/test unreleased genetics, to use for their own devices. Those types have to be weeded out. Perhaps there can be levels to it and the ability to test unreleased strains can earned.
If I was a breeder, I wouldn't want a group of newbies testing my gear and displaying it. Its too risky. If I saw a pic of a plant with issues, are those grower caused? Are they genetic? 1st impressions are everything. The breeders use the feedback and pics from testers on their websites ect. It can be a pretty big deal.
But I do think the app process is a good idea because there are a TON of gem growers hanging out here that may not post regularly!
