New Grower I probably should have waited until fall...

You really do not need to worry about lifting out a plant because the roots of the two plants in the same reservoir will be so intertwined as to lock them both in place; unless you take a long knife and slice them apart. Been there and done that :tang:.

Will have to rethink my reservoir changing routine when that happens. I just switch it out with a backup containing the fully mixed phed water. I will have to start draining out the same reservoir using the pump, and then refilling from the premixed reservoir. Might be easier actually, but don't think it will be as fresh a start since I doubt the pump will get all the water out. What do you think? Not enough written about changing a RDWC reservoir as some other topics.

Without pictures it never happened! Here some pics of a DWC I did in the past.

You should have an aerated top off tank on a float valve in your reservoir. It is important to keep the water level in the res consistent. You can also make-up the top off tank about 1/4 strength of the nutes you are using and the res will remain constant until the weekly change.

That will have to wait for the next run, MOG. I am keeping the water level pretty consistent when I am here, and the wife has that part down when I am away. She dips the wooden mixing spoon in the reservoir, and I have the spoon marked with where the water should be. If it is at the low end of the range, she tops it off to the top of the range with water I have prepared and bottled. I think we are good from a water level standpoint. Ph and Pom monitoring when I am gone, however, is a different story!

This is a picture of my bulkhead with a sprinkler pipe fitting I use. I cut a piece of pipe with a small notch on the floor side and fit it right down to the bottom. It drains the tank almost dry. On the outside I have a valve and fitting that allows me to connect and disconnect the pump to move between reservoirs.

Thanks Budzey! That was timely advice to defol. They were so many covered budsites. I bet I gained some future bud weight with that move.

Do you guys see any preflower activity? I either don't or can't tell. I wouldn't mind them going another week without starting to flower.
