Mephisto Genetics Hubbabubba K.I.S.S. grow journal

Bugs I have a zero tolerance policy towards bugs, I was not happy when I saw this damage from a little Vampire insect chewing holes and sucking the juice out of my girl.

I found the little sucker and squished it. It was not a Thip or White fly, that is good!
It outsmarted the yellows sticky traps, so I have doubled perimeter security and random inspections.

Day 29, Oh Bugger
I supercropped her at the 5th node. I crushed the stem a bit and bent it, easy. 5th node seemed like a good choice to really flatten out the canopy, but it was a BAD choice because of her size, half the plant is above the 5th node!

Half liquid for the plant has to go thru a bent straw, that seems very high stress. Also the HubbaBubba stem is a bit delicate, the weight of half the plant leveraged on a bent stem is dumb idea, well hindsight is 20/20.

She is doing pretty well 12 hours later, somehow managing to get enough water to all the leaves.

Day 35 throwing pistils nicely, not much other change so lets skip the photos this time.

I got a new grow toy. A wireless weather station with a CO2 sensor.
$149 on Amazon and already worth it. http://tinyurl.com/pb4dcc4
It can record every 15 min and display graph of the CO2 levels.

I grow in my bedroom and I was SHOCKed to learn how fast the room fills up with CO2 from my breathing. My bedroom is big, but CO2 increases overnight from 400ppm to 1500 ppm! 1500ppm is considered the MAX if you are supplementing with CO2, right? I am supplementing naturally with my breath.

There is an App for Android and Apple phones. All I have to do is turn on my phone to see the latest CO2 levels.
Now if I could just stop breathing....

Here is part of a review from somebody using it in their grow room. Seems pretty handy:

"finally can see what happens to humidity when the lights are off. The CO2 monitor tells me right away when a new tank is needed. A high temperature alert tells me the air conditioning has a problem. Very useful and helpful. The sound meter lets me know when a fan or AC is on or off, useful for monitoring correct equipment operation. I find myself constantly checking room status from my iPhone."

Here is an example of a CO2 graph with current reading of 737 PPM:

this is not my image. I only go to New Jersey if I want to kiss her where it smells.

Day 42 HBSS seems more sensitive to nutes than Sour Crack. I have cut the nutes by 50% but I still have some clawing and tip burn on the new growth, darn. No defficiencies, that is worth a smile.

Shaping this monster is challenging. I was trying to supercrop a second time, but mangled the main stem.
Should I put a nose ring in there?

The main cola just keeps growing and popping pistils like nothing happened.

Day 45 Supercropped a 3rd time, the main stalk has a zigzag shape. I feel like I have her under control, barely.

Mr Rhyce Saroni gently pointed out that the Tomato Food that I am using is basically bloom nutes.
He is right, but the lower nitrogen ratio didn't slow down this plant much...the mangled main stalk is almost 1 meter long.
